The iconic Mortal Kombat franchises spans more than 30 years already, but stills knows how to deliver a solid fighting game. They proof that with the soft reboot that is Mortal Kombat 1. Story mode and some new, intuitive fighting mechanics carry this installment, even though as a whole it's not as 'meaty' as its predecessor.

Mortal Kombat 1 is a superbly presented fighting game with something to offer players of all experience and familiarity with NetherRealm's sprawling MK universe. The Kameo fighter system injects new strategic depth into combat, the rebooted timeline feeds a ridiculous story, and the suite of game modes are both varied and well made.

Fans waited four years for NetherRealm to release a new fighting game, and all that waiting paid off. From the surprises in its new mythology, to the white-knuckled pace and creativity in its gameplay, Mortal Kombat 1 is the freshest take on the series in years.

Je cherchais le meilleur prix pour acheter le jeu, puis j'ai découvert MTCGAME, ils ne se contentent pas de livrer en termes de produits et de prix ; ils excellent dans le support client et recommandent fortement qu'il soit rapide et fiable

игра не перевернула моё мнение о ней, это не лучше чем мк11. Но как слово в жанре и игра для фанатов и фан сервис, она однозначто ТОП. И это мой первый МК с платиной. В этот МК мне так же приятно играть, как в теккен, ни с одной другой игрой такого не было

Mortal Kombat 1 is not a revolution but rather an evolution that continues the franchise’s good streak. Excellent combat system, solid story mode and some truly noteworthy additions (like Kameo or Invasion Mode) make it really difficult to tear yourself away from the controller. Sometimes you can feel that the series is starting to chase its tail, but for now it’s hard to find a similarly accessible fighting game.

As a reboot, Mortal Kombat 1 is a complete success and the series has a colorful, sunny future thanks to the completely overhauled combat system, characters and aesthetics. If you look purely at the content and the way the modes have evolved, it is all a bit less impressive, but this is still a bold but successful new direction for the now classic franchise. It almost made me forget Injustice...

Mortal Kombat 1 is a reboot with a big, bloody heart. It re-tools Mortal Kombat’s story and characters in creative ways, and for the most part, the combat is excellent. Unfortunately, there are some elements that feel rushed. It’s still a very good fighting game, but it should have been a great one.

Mortal Kombat 1 serves as a love letter to fans of this thirty-one-year-old franchise and as a pseudo-reboot it also has potential appeal to newcomers alike. There's still room to grow and I'm sure it will just keep getting better, but Mortal Kombat 1 is already definitely worth your time.

The story is bad, especially the DLC Havik story. Still a beautiful game, fun to play, heavy heavy tilt towards modern audiences which is what damages the story. The development team is talented. Let them make the game without the modern messaging and you will get a great product.

Absolutely not recommended: MK1 is a painful misstep.
Easily the worst MK of the NRS era.
Unbalanced, with Kameos that flatten the gameplay instead of making it more diverse, and the soporific Invasions mode (a hundred times stronger than chamomile with melatonin).
Not to mention the so-called "new artistic direction," the bland character designs (I dare you to tell Raiden and Kung Lao apart when they’re not fighting), and the color palette worthy of a Teletubbies episode...
Despite being an MK fan for 30 years, I simply can’t defend MK1 — it comes out defeated when compared to all its recent competitors.
SF6, T8, and GBVSR are all vastly superior products.
MK1 is a failed experiment.

Really was not feeling this game. Coming from getting the platinum in MK 11 and enjoying that for the last previous years, I was looking forward to this. Even with the story how could they follow up MK on new time line? Well spoiler alert, they could not follow it up. This is basically a retelling of MK1 with alternate characters. Problem is, the new time line/alternate characters is just not as good and not liking where its going. The biggest disappointment is the combat and the addition of the new "kameo" fighters. This for me is what really ruins the game. I just did not like it. The biggest thing i DID like is that fact that you don't have to pick all the special moves like in the last few games. That just got too complicated. However, the kameos basically act as move set variations. So between the story/ setting/ combat and characters i was pretty let down with this. and if this is the indication where it's heading then the future of the series is looking rather bleak. Oh, and one final note, I took off full point for making me play as sub zero and scorpion with a MAN BUN.
