No classic, but no mess either. [Nov 2016, p.76]

Metroid Prime: Federation Force is a clear sign of Nintendo either not understanding or just not caring about what kind of games their player base wants. It’s a shame really, since Federation Force controls pretty well. It just has the burden of being a multiplayer shooter in a series no one wants to be about multiplayer shooters and on a platform no one wants to use for multiplayer games outside of Japan. Mission objectives are rarely limited to simple elimination of opposition: from the very beginning game presents tasks like luring animals into cages or infiltrating enemy base. Not to mention that there are tons of levers or buttons to be pushed and secret passages to be found, which brings back fond memories of FPS from the 90-s, as well as classic Metroid games. There's this game called Metroid Prime 4 that took it's Inspiration from this 3DS Game. They should have called that game "Metroid Prime: Federation Force". Yes, the same name. And they should have changed this 3DS games name to simply "Federation Force".

a good game, released at the worst possible time, but as someone who play this game around... July 2023 I think, maybe June but I think I was still playing tears of the kingdom then, but yeah I was able to actually appreciate this game for what it is, it has a great atmosphere, fun campaign, and blast ball is Neat!

Metroid Prime: Federation Force is not only the best FPS on the 3DS, but perhaps one of my favorite FPS games ever.

It may not be the Metroid game many expected, but it's a satisfying experience to play in company, and it makes us see the Metroid universe from a new and interesting point of view.

I don't have the full game but I enjoyed the demo, except the amiibo support.

I'm going to honest. I was skeptical of this game at first. That all changed when I started up. I pulled out my handy dandy 3DS and inserted what is probably the most beautiful looking cartridge since Pokémon Yellow. As I clicked to start game, a vision came to me. Chuck Norris and Luke Skywalker were in that ghost form you see in Star Wars. They told telepathically (they used the force) that this game would be the pinnacle of human achievement. I go to the start screen and my 3DS exploded from the pure awesomeness of this game. So I went outside and put a Master Chief custom on and kicked a ball in a net. Needless to say I've been hooked and haven't encountered something so beautiful. The story is just pure awesomeness (think Ocarina of Time), the graphics are amazing (think Horizon), and the soundtrack is something that will never be replicated again. More importantly, the cover is cool. 10/10 played soccer.

Federation Force is a very fun cooperative shooter, it has solid design on its levels, a lot of strategy with the mod system and plenty of content if you don't have problems with the controls. The game is not well-balanced when you play solo, but at the end of the day it's better than we expected.

Metroid Prime: Federation Force is an ambitious production. It's a solid and fun co-op FPS, but is shamelessly multiplayer-oriented. Is it a true Metroid? We're not sure.

Federation Force isn’t bad — especially when you factor in Blast Ball — but it’s not going to fill the hunger felt by most franchise fans. It doesn’t work as a single-player offering, and those who want to play with friends will need to exert ridiculous levels of willpower and patience to get games in. If you’re willing to give it a go with mates, synch things up ahead of time for the least amount of stress.

Metroid Prime Federation Force can be fun in multiplayer, but it still has big flaws and will certainly disappoint Metroid fans.

There is a core idea here that could’ve worked, but Metroid Prime: Federation Force is nothing short of a disaster due to horribly thought out implementation and shoddy execution.

From the studio that brought us the amazing Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon! I absolutely love this game. Each mission is totally different and they are usually best completed with coordinated cooperation. My brother and I had a blast! It's possible to play by yourself but it's definitely best playing online with friends or strangers. There is lots of hidden loot and an upgrade system that will keep you coming back to the stages. And this game has the best online system of any Nintendo game (admittedly not much of an accomplishment). There is an actual lobby system and drop in/drop out multiplayer. The cartoony design is really fun and perfect for the hardware. My only gripe is the the movement is a little on the slow side but the side dash helps. Blastball is icing on the cake: A soccer FPS in the vein of Rocket League. Warning! It's a spin-off so don't get upset that you can't play as Samus. But she does make an appearance!

Well made video game on gameplay and the FPS , but still it doesn’t feel like Metroid game .

Federation Force is generic, repetitive and uninspired. It lacks the isolation and dark atmosphere that the franchise is known for and artistically it's the complete opposite of what you would expect from a Metroid title.

It barely has anything to do with metroid besides a few times they mention samus, why did they even call this metroid prime? Why didn't they call it "don't buy this game, it's **** federation force"
SummaryEnlist with a four-player local or online squad in this co-operative sci-fi shooter set in the Metroid universe. Hop in a specialized battle Mech suit and work with your teammates to take down enemy forces and complete objective- based missions. Then, take a break and play a fun, pick-up game of Blast Ball with fellow troops.
