Medal of Honor: Rising Sun is a WWII first-person shooter that puts you in the shoes of Joseph Griffin during the Pacific War. The game mixes serious historical moments with some lighthearted and even goofy bits, which keeps the tone varied and interesting. One of the coolest features is how enemies react realistically to your shots. If you shoot their hand, they’ll shake it in pain, and if you hit their leg, they’ll hop around. This makes combat feel more immersive and satisfying. The Bonus Objectives add some extra challenges, though most of them are pretty simple. The levels are packed with supplies hidden in breakable crates, giving you a nice incentive to explore. You also get a solid variety of weapons, about nine or ten different ones, which helps keep combat fresh. On the downside, the difficulty spikes hard in the final mission, with enemies dealing a lot more damage, which can get frustrating. Sometimes enemies spawn right behind you and swarm you with melee attacks out of nowhere, which can feel unfair and break the flow. Overall, Medal of Honor: Rising Sun is a solid WWII shooter with detailed combat and a good mix of story and gameplay. Just be ready for some tough moments and surprise enemy attacks.

Was middle of the road series wise, but this game was one of the first games I have ever completed with big red one and finest hour. Only thing is the controls were slow even for a ps2. So, every time you tried to kill the explosive suicide chargers the chargers would move faster than you can move the character, so it was frustrating as **** yo.

could have done without the a.i. companions, they bad. real bad. the BUTTERFLY cheat to unlock all levels bumps the score way up cause i was stuck in the jungle looking for intelligence. no clue on where to look. had 4/5 and called it good enough. skip to next level. wish the game had more music from moh(1999), underground, and frontline.

A nice change to shoot the Japanese but something was missing in it for me. Big + for coop.

Game is pretty forgettable. Not very challenging either. Framerate can drop quite a bit in some sections. That said there is still some fun to be had and I liked the jungle/ temple theming.

It's a shame how this game had so much potential and yet it was thrown away. A Medal of Honor set in the Pacific theatre would have been gorgeous - but this game sank like the USS Arizona. Fortunately, the empty stomach that Rising Sun left us with was filled in Pacific Assault, the game that proved a Medal of Honor in the Pacific was a great idea.

Medal of Honor Rising Sun may be the best Medal of Honor game I've ever played. I just simply love this. Pros: - Superb soundtrack - Amazing missions - Realistic approach on the Pacific Theater - Never gets boring the gameplay and the setting is that good - Splitscreen Co-op (little bit changes the missions to appeal co-op, which is fantastic!) - Everything in this game is just memorable Cons: - The graphics are kinda outdated (well obviously, since this came out in 2003) - The AI is sometimes dumb - It could've been longer 10/10. Simply put, this is the best MOH ever and I'm really disappointed and sad that this game won't get any continuation, since many people didn't like this game. How can you not like this game? It's the best in the entire series.

Boy was the first two levels of this game super promising. The opening act on Pearl Harbor set the mood and the excitement on which was to come for the rest of the game. That unfortunately did not happen. With lackluster enemies and rather empty feeling levels, this game was pretty disappointing. What's worse the campaign was left on a cliffhanger and us console owners never got a conclusion to that story having instead get a mention or something like that in the PC game, Medal of Honor: Pacific. In any case, the graphics are an improvement with vast beautiful colors and the music is as good as the last game but at the core of the game, it just wasn't there. Shame really because I was really excited to finally play a game not set in the European Theater as the Pacific was seemed to be ignored in pop culture. Guess we'll revisit in 2008's Call of Duty: World at War.

Okay... this game is really dumb.. I mean, we have to admit it: it's really bad. But that's the point. It's so bad that it becomes so much fun xD I just finished playing the Two-Player Campaign with a friend and we gotta say.. we had a total blast ! The game, being bad at everything, is just hillarious and ridiculously funn from every point of view. Idk what to say anymore. I could go on talking about details but I think a proper review for this game would just be a mess =)) I have to give it a 10/10 for keeping us entertained. But ofc, I wouldn't give it a 10/10 for how seriously broken it is xD

Medal of Honor Rising Sun offers a nice change of settings (Singapore, Burma, Thailand, Philippines) in comparison with its predecessor Medal of Honor Frontline. Though it still has very linear missions, the levels are less interesting than Medal of Honor Frontline and the graphics are not very pleasing to the eye, this game has one advantage over MOH Frontline: it has a split-screen co-op mode as wel as a deathmatch mode and also an online Multi player mode! On different missions in the single player campaign you get to play as a team with your A.I. squadmates, but most of the time they are just standing at random places, waiting for you to move and several times I saw them being stuck running into walls. I would rate Medal of Honor Rising sun 6 out of 10 for the single player campaign and 10 out of 10 for its multi player mode, which makes an average of 8 out of 10.

medal of honor goes abroad to the pacific theater! but a few things were left behind, medal of honor rising sun was released in 2003 for tthe ps2, xbox and gamecube systems, it was the first medal of honor game set in the pacific theater of world war 2, so where do i start? this is the black sheep of the medal of honor franchise, essentially, i have 2 versions of this game, the xbox version, and the ps2 version, while the ps2 version plays well without incident, the xbox version is packed full of bugs, mainly level areas that dont spawn, i would not reccomend the xbox version at all, but as for the game, the level design is fairly good, but some levels feel cramped and grainy, like the Guadalcanal level, the graphics are a plus, they are fairly good looking, but the one thing that lets this game down is the ai, the enemies stand out in the open and just let you shoot them, i dont know if this is for historical realism, because japanese soldiers were not afraid to die, but i have no clue, your teammates have the same problem, but they will occasionally get stuck on the scenery, also the control is nowhere near as good as medal of honor frontline, it feels slugish and stiff, and aiming accurately is an absolute chore, but one bonus over frontline, is that there is a checkpoint system, in the form of save systems spread about the levels, overall, its not a bad game, the concept could have worked, but it was just rushed out the door too quick, and all the different ports have so many things wrong with them, i wouldnt reccomend this game to anyone with a 6th gen console, its not a bad game, but, you wont get your moneys worth :(

Despite featuring a whole host of cliches, including a numerous mounted turret sections in which the bad guys only appear once you man the weapon, Medal of Honor Rising Sun could have still passed as an adequate World War II FPS back in the PlayStation 2 days. However the terrible collision detection, that see's the player failing to hit enemies despite clearly lining up the reticule, makes it all but unplayable at times. One to avoid.

Not the best of the MOH series, nevertheless a good war yarn. Interesting foray into the Pacific War, albeit a tad unrealistic. The Japanese don't always Banzai charge, like shown in the game. Graphics aren't the best, but the compelling game play, plot, and weapons make it a vivacious roller coaster. Definitely worth a second glance.
