If I ever need to make a war movie, I know exactly what it needs to sound like.

The graphics are polished, the sound is atmospheric and helps create a realistic environment and if that wasn't enough the Artificial Intelligence is second to none (well maybe Halo).

This is the kind of game that made me believe in the bright future of gaming, and at the same time, strengthened my belief that we're still far off from the level of professionalism needed to boost this form of entertainment to a more prominent cultural level.

One of the most important and legendary PC FPS games, in a way making Call of Duty. Fun and different from most FPS shooters. Graphics are obviously dated but if we look at it fair, compared to other games that came out at that time it’s really good. Level design is most of the time done well, except a few. Gameplay is as bread and butter as it gets: go shoot, cover, shoot. Guns feel and sound amazing, making the gameplay more satisfying. It has issues such as absurd AI at times, performance stuff that just doesn’t perform or work due to how old this game is. If you have never played it and you are itching to go shoot some **** this is the game you should give a chance.

Fun, pure and simple - the scenarios and environments it's based on were paid for with blood, sweat, and tears. It's makes the game an honor to play.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. The beginning of the computer era of Medal of Honor. Surprisingly, very enthusiastic feelings from playing this game. The plot and situations in the game are just excellent. And the final mission would have shut up any military shooter of that time.

Not only a technically excellent shooter, the ambiance and level of detail is just plain amazing...[yet] The opponent AI was way too sensitive, as enemies can spot you in heavy cover from quite a distance, making the idea of quietly sneaking up on your foes an impossibility. This was the biggest downfall of the game.

A fantastic shooter. The levels seem to be just right in length, have lots of enemies to gun down or evade, and the scripted events make the missions seem logical and important.

At a time when shooters seem to be evolving into two distinct kinds of games--either focused on realistic tactics or on arcade action--Medal of Honor represents the absolute best that action-packed, event-driven shooters have to offer.

I will acknowledge that the graphics are well done, and the audio is superior to most; however the game plays like a mediocre console game that doesn't have the glamour of other FPS.

A snipers best dream and worst nightmare. You can be walking through the forest and all of a sudden a shot rings out and you get hit. I found a couple of times where I could not see the sniper because he was hiding behind a tree.

If you fan of ww2 games you should try this. Despite its age, this game still has its charm and unique appeal

It does a great job of handling the uber-difficulty of D-Day, but most of the game is about a one-man-army dude destroying Germans. The gameplay is fun, except for the muzzle jitter when you take damage.

I am ok with playing old games and imo judging them for todays standarts is not good. Bul game is so hard to the point its not enjoyable to me, Its not terrible its good but not good for me, frustration that i got isn't near equal to the enjoymet i got.

That's where it all started bros. The great downfall of FPS into Modern Military Shooters for dumb masses. That's it. If you want to know why does nowadays shooters mostly **** and go by one model of dragging player along a path - launch AA and dive into the sea... No, a sewer canal of bad ideas that ruined shooters forever. It's all here. Compass, abysmall level design, and dragging you by your hand. There are medpacks and it's not too easy (but it ain't hard, by no means), sure; but they were quickly eradicated to make shooters compelling to 8 years olds, who forced their parents to buy crappy modern military shooters. That was the moment shooters went downhill pretty fast.
SummaryAs Lt. Mike Powell, member of the famed 1st Ranger Battalion, you'll battle through over 20 levels based on historical military campaigns of World War II. Fire period weapons and command authentic war vehicles as you silence the gun batteries at Port Arzew, survive the Omaha Beach landing, and more. [Electronic Arts]
