Mass Effect: Legendary Edition offers the comprehensive experience that the whole trilogy rightfully deserves. Thanks to this, you can easily forgive it all sorts of small ailments associated with the age of individual parts and you drown dozens of unforgettable hours in the game without blinking an eye. Yes, even after such a long time.
While I loved every second of replaying Mass Effect for the fourth and definitely not final time, I have that history and nostalgia keeping me through the outdated gameplay. I would recommend anyone jump into this series if they love BioWare RPGs, but I’d have a string of caveats. A lot has not aged well, especially from the first game, even though the first game arguably has the best story of all three. The Mass Effect Legendary Edition is an absolutely incredible walk down memory lane, but that’s really all it is. If you’re a newbie to the trilogy and you’re dying to see what all the fuss is about, better buckle in for one bumpy ride.
A melhor trilogia da história dos video games!
Tenho algumas pequenas ressalvas quanto ao remaster em si, mas ainda assim é a versão definitiva dos jogos.
This is not only the greatest single player series ever in a video game, but one of the best pieces of Science Fiction ever created. They wanted to make a mature Star Wars, but in the process they blew Star Wars out of the water, and the franchise will hopefully one day get the respect it deserves if they can actually make proper forms of new media from it. The Legendary edition is the best way to play, but honestly I wish I could score this game down a point because of how little effort they put into this remaster. It really deserved better treatment, with much higher pixel count on models, more ways to customize your character, and so on. But frankly, I can't deduct a point from the greatest series ever made, and I truly hope they bring back Casey Hudson to build the next one, because Andromeda didn't come close to the scope the first trilogy delivered.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition is the remastered collection that the trilogy deserves. Playing these games back-to-back showcases the immensely impressive scope of BioWare's series — an ambitious project the likes of which we haven't seen since. In some ways, all three titles are showing their age — but excellent character writing and exceptional world building make this a timeless trilogy. An emotional and truly memorable experience, from start to finish.
As a whole, this is pretty much exactly what fans have been asking for for so long- the entire Mass Effect trilogy brought together in a single package that, rather than just making the games better looking, helps their qualities stand out much more while ironing out the kinks.
Mass Effect's Legendary Edition lovingly puts three of the best games ever back in the spotlight. That is actually enough reason to recommend this package, but it still feels as if Bioware is missing out on opportunities to turn out really big.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition is the the best way to play the Mass Effect trilogy in 2021, but with an expensive launch price, some work on the graphics but none on the animations.
The best sci-fi saga in the whole gaming industry. Even today, it's hard to find games that tell such a compelling story, with such high-quality writing and immersion, endearing characters, and incredible music. These remastered versions are the best way to discover or rediscover them.
I was looking forward to an easy platinum but I found myself running around talking to npc’s for the first few hours. Very frustrating you need to manually guess where to go next using the journal and that the game doesn’t indicate where to go to next on these mazes of space ships. Did they pay for good ratings on this game ? It is no way near an 86 !!!! I gave up and am returning it this week.
This review is mostly about the so called Remake and ''fixes'' that EA has done and not for any of the 3 Mass Effect Games ( We don't talk about that abomination Andromeda thankfully) Pluses: The 3 games are pretty compact and put in 1 place which saves you space and time. The Edition almost has all of the game's DLC's which is great (no need to buy them) There is a bit improvement in regards to how the cinematic looks and some overall Visual Character improvements. Some area's with bosses are now better due to added cover. Loading times for the most part have been shortened. Minus the :O Why the hell are you forced to run EA's crappy Origin to play Single Player games on steam? Bad Move EA no micro-transactions for you. For ME1 there have been barely any improvements in regards to the quality of the product I can't even say that its a Remaster to be honest. The entire game is as always very janky and the Mako is still incredibly awful when you control it over terrain, combat is also the same broken mess as the previous version. For ME2 Visually it looks great and the missions handle very well for the most part. My only issue is with the Camera angles which are worse than the original ME2 which I did not know it could be possible, characters phase or become fully invisible in some parts of the conversations. For ME3 I cant say that there are improvements on it visually and it looks like the original version.I keep experiencing camera issues when having conversations with the characters which I think never showed up on the original game. Overall it's fine if you want the entire collection + DLC on your steam Library but I can't say that there is anything really ''REMASTERED'' as they claim. I would suggest buying this on sale ( around 50%-60% off).
SummaryFor many months now, our team at BioWare has been hard at work updating the textures, shaders, models, effects and technical features of three enormous games. Our goal was not to remake or reimagine the original games, but to modernize the experience so that fans and new players can experience the original work in its best possible form....
