If you're a fan of the bullet hell genre, Mamorukun ReCurse! is definitely a great choice for your library. This title has plenty of action and content, and the twin-sticker implementation makes everything more frenetic and dynamic. Now, if this isn't a genre you're very familiar with, don't worry, there are plenty of features to make it one of your favorites.

With its unconventional approach, tight arcade shooting gameplay, and charming anime presentation, I absolutely love Mamorukun ReCurse.

Mamorukun ReCurse wasn’t on my radar, but it earns its place with sharp twin-stick action, solid preservation work, and a weird charm that sticks. City Connection brings this 2008 arcade shmup back with a package that feels both respectful and modern. The unique, non-scrolling stage design and multiple gameplay modes keep things interesting across skill levels. Some features like rewind and clearer visual cues are missing, but what’s here still delivers a satisfying and memorable run. It’s a welcome revival that makes the upcoming sequel feel worth anticipating.

Is Mamorukun ReCurse! for everyone? No. Is Mamorukun ReCurse! even for most people? Probably not. The game caters to a very niche audience with its gameplay and art style, but that shouldn’t take away from the fact that the package on offer is solid, and those who appreciate the genre will find it a decent addition to their collection.

While it was interesting to play such a rare shoot 'em up, Mamorukun ReCursed! feels a bit clunky, quite dated and not actually all that impressive. It's a capable enough game but not the best example of the genre.
