A very skilled hybrid game between point-and-click adventure and platformer. The plot and the surprises it has in store make it a very special, unique and absolutely satisfying game.

I cannot express enough how much I enjoyed this game. It does require you to be a fan of both point-and-click and platform games, but if you are, then this is an absolute diamond-studded must buy.

This is joyful and smart and stupid and hilarious. Yes, my hand still hurts from getting so cross with one platforming bit, but it’s as nothing compared to how funny it is. I so desperately want to give examples, reveal some of the game’s most elaborate gags to prove to you how impressive this is, but I shall resist. You trust me? Trust me on this one. Lair Of The Clockwork God is incredibly funny, impressively big, meticulously detailed, and so very smart about how dumb it’s being.

With their latest, Dan Marshall and Ben Ward successfully extend their lovingly parodic style to a much broader range of genres.

Lair of the Clockwork God is a genre mash-up that probably shouldn't work, and yet it does. It feels a little unrefined, intentionally so, but there's plenty of comedic fodder in indie platformers, modern gaming and life for Ben and Dan to riff off through the lens of classic LucasArts style adventures.

When it isn't engaging in playful (self-)mockery, it finds ways to explore videogames' quirks in witty, insightful fashion. [Issue#343, p.120]

Size Five delivers both classic platforming and point-and-click adventuring in this self-aware and deeply anglocentric caper.

Lair of Clockwork God blends adventure and platforming to mixed effect, but it’s a very accomplished game overall, bursting with enough variety, style and humour to keep you surprised and entertained throughout its surprisingly generous play time.

Lair Of the Clockwork God is funny, clever and full of great humor provided by two amazing protagonists. Platform and point and click adventure mixed up together are a surprisingly tasteful cocktail full of wonderful ideas.
