Chapter 3, though, shows that the studio has their legs under them and are ready to round out the series in epic fashion.

While I was thrilled to be able to spend more time with Graham and company, Once Upon A Climb is somewhat unsubstantial and unsatisfying. It’s not a bad episode by any means, but with only two more installments left to go, I’m hoping that the Gentlemen can get back up to speed and finish the series as strong as it started.

Faster, funnier and more varied, the third episode of King's Quest improves upon its predecessors in almost every way.

It is inexplicable that Uncharted should get so many awards and so much praise and King's Quest would get short shrift. Beautiful graphics? KQ looks like a living cartoon, utterly gorgeous in every way and just as expressive as Uncharted, if not as realistic. Climbing gameplay? KQ has the exact same climbing gameplay as Uncharted, but much less of it, which is the reasonable and perfect amount for a game. Shooting? It even has a few shooting (bow and arrow) elements are are fun and challenging. Moving storyline and breathtaking action scenes? Check and check. The main thing that KQ lacks and Uncharted has in spades is incalculable amounts of wholesale murder. That's about the only difference. Chapter 3 is charming, smart, "cute", and had me smiling the entire time. My only complaint is that the puzzles in this particular chapter leaves the reservation a bit in terms of making sense BEFORE you solve them. This is a huge problem with adventure games. I should be taking an action because I am relatively sure of it's result. Or I THINK I am sure of it's result. KQ Ch3 had me taking actions because i could and I wasn't sure why until after the fact.

So much better (and longer) than the last chapter. Out of the 3 chapters that have been released, so far, this one has been my favorite. Cute, comedic, and somewhat simple. There are even previous characters that show up in this chapter. Can't wait for the next 2 chapters!

The best chapter in the series to date. Wonderful character developments, emotional scenes, great throw backs to previous games. Kings quest at its best!

This episode is moving, well-written, with great characters and unforgettable moments. It is true that the wait between chapters is long, but it is also worth it.

Once Upon a Climb surpasses the first two episodes, thanks to a funny screenplay, a couple of stimulating old-school puzzles, and some breath-taking areas. By far the best chapter in the series, with an interesting backstory that finally emerges.

Chapter 3 had me smiling the entire way throughout, and sometimes even laughing out loud. As Graham matures and makes more meaningful connections during his time in Daventry, it seems like the tale being told deepens too, and I can’t wait to see what part of Graham’s life we get to be a part of next.

In addition to telling its own capsule story about how Graham got his groove on, Once Upon A Climb also continues to propel the narrative about Manny and his brother, which has been a continuing thread – along with old Graham’s failing health. Judging from Graham’s condition, it seems ever-so-likely that this tale will have a bittersweet ending. In the meantime, I’m enjoying the journey.
