Jagged Alliance 2

I first got the demo version of this game on a CD that came with a magazine. I played the same map over and over again. And one day when I got the full game, and when I realized that each tile is separate map, with so so many different guns and clips, and you could actually choose your mercenaries... My mind was blown. I was also quite surprised that there is a whole story going on, and I am not shooting bad guys just for sport. Many people will consider the graphics outdated. But I cannot name one modern title that can compare to this game. Still opening it every now and then, playing the 1.13 mod. And still fun after 1/4 century.

This game is still very good and fun to play. One of my all-tme favourites.

one of the best turn based strategy games out there. there are also exceptional mods in the web that add new features and options in the game and provide even deeper tactical depth

21 years after its release, this game still stands unmatched in its field. Tactical small units turn based combat with a management back ground has never before (or after) been portrayed more vividly. Very often emulated, but never equalled. the version to play is 1,13. Certainly for me, the best game EVER.

There are few games in my life that i've been installing and playing year after year. Ja2 is one of them. This game aged like a fine wine. Even though graphics are old, i come back to it because there simply is no other game that had such polished tactical turn-based gameplay. Mechanics are simple to understand yet offers wide variety of tactical options, skill up system where you improve skills that you use and is very satisfying somehow, with suprisingly competent AI that can be very clever with flanking (you constantly have to check your flanks because guess what, if their friends are dying on one spot, they're looking to avoid that area), with great mod support that is still active made it last way beyond its lifetime. Frankly, every "bestselling" turn-based game ive played in recent years just fails to impress me thanks to this one game. They never managed to replicate it, just like Heroes3, this game is a must-play classic for every Turn-based Strategy fan. (if im being honest, every gamer should play it) Just play it with 1.13 mod.

Too niche game that did not get a big franchise, but died in the bud. Too sad that no game developer will make a qualitative continuation
