Divinity: Original Sin II - Definitive Edition

This is one of the highest rated and praised rpg games ever. I fear I do not share the general opinion, mostly because of the combat system . It seem like there is no role for pure fighters and magic is overwhelmingly important. I am a great fan of TB combat, but I prefear Pathfinder kingmaker, pillars of eternity 2 and even Original Sin one to this. I also do not care much for the cartoonish graphics. That being said, the developers are the very best and most dedicated around and the plot, quests, voice acting are excellent.

A solid turn based tactical fantasy game experience. I very much enjoy the sense of impending doom deriving by having far too few resources available to counter the evil invasion underway. it reminds a bit of battle brothers ( a true classic ). I very much enjoy also the economic management of the resources needed to conduct the war. very much inspired by the night guard at Castle Black, if you are a GOT fan.

21 years after its release, this game still stands unmatched in its field. Tactical small units turn based combat with a management back ground has never before (or after) been portrayed more vividly. Very often emulated, but never equalled. the version to play is 1,13. Certainly for me, the best game EVER.

very solid effort from a small indie developer. Addictive, with RPG and tactical turn based combat. Very refined experience, now with very few bugs. Excellent music score. Interesting historical period. I definitely recommend this game

All the atmosphere of the "walking dead" tv series is perfectly captured by this complex, multi-layered strategic game of survival during the zombie apocalypse. On the strategic level, you need to secure a shelter, gather food, fuel, other fellow survivors and try to keep your little community expanding, thriving and, mostly surviving each passing day. when you choose your foraging party in the morning (and at the same time assign other less exciting tasks to those who stay behind in the shelter), you go out to look for what you need to survive in a dreadful, apocalyptic world of death. Then you get to meet the enemy: zombies -yes- but especially other human survivors, who are often more dangerous than the living dead. Tactical combat (turn based-JA2 style) follows with a good many options and weapons. I find also this part of teh game very satisfying, and cannot say I have found all the glitches and bugs other reviewers mentioned (after the "reanimated" patch of mid may 2015). Overall, I love this game, but it still has room for improvement: a) overall morale of the shelter seems to have a limited game effect b) more dialogue option would be beneficial c) you cannot kneel or go prone in combat d) there seem to be little option to use stealth usefully in combat. I hope the developers will address some of these points.

Much controversy over this one: rated with many "zeroes" and "tens". I must say this is an excellent game, with has aspects that can please most players. For instance I thoroughly enjoyed the controversial Kingdom building part, which adds a strategic layer to the action. One thing that many naysayers forget is that after two full years from release, this game is being constantly updated with substantial improvements: the best of these is certainly the turn based combat. After so many Patches the game has lost the vast majority of the initial bugs. I rate it 9 because I still do not like some details of the combat system, a bit based on luck and imho, devoid of a proper interaction between weapons and armour. Overall, a great game.

This is a must if you like turn based small units tactical combat in a quasi medieval setting. But the fun comes not only from combat but from the management aspects of needing to feed, pay, rest your men and generally keeping your little mercenary company a viable economic concern. Everything is done with great taste, from the graphics to the music. It is EXTREMELY difficult and frustrating at times. I strongly suggest having all of the DLC and choosing a few of the many quality mods available for this game.
