In Between is powerful, smart and engaging down to the last second. I only wish I could snap my fingers and forget everything about it, only to be able to experience it for the first time again.

In Between might be mistaken for just another puzzle platformer, but it's anything but. It tackles some serious subject matter with a level of confidence that is rarely seen in games today.

In Between is certainly an experience worth having. It’s journey is not a path not many choose to take, and at the end it’s left all the more special and unique for it.

In Between makes us live the drama of a common person struggling with a relentless and lethal disease: a story about rage and desperation as much as hope and love for life, capable of making us meditate on our lives' true priorities. All this is narrated through a brilliant and highly challenging, but often frustrating due to an imperfect control system, physics based puzzle-platformer game.

Overall, In Between is a stellar title. It’s a refreshing take on the platformer genre in a market that is saturated to breaking point.

In Between offers a unique twist on the puzzle platforming genre, but the precision needed to complete each level, and the extreme difficulty, takes away from the enjoyment.

Separately, In Between's gameplay and story are great. Combined they feel like a poor mismatch where one is constantly hindering the other. There are instances when the come together to create a harmonious interactive memoir, but you'll spend most of your time simply grinding through to get to the savory parts.

In Between is a confused puzzle-platformer with some interesting ideas but ultimately, the story held my interest more than the game itself.

All said, if I were dying (okay, yes, we’re all dying, but I mean in the more expedited sense), the last thing I would do is waste any time playing a game so frustrating.
