Godzilla – Smash3 is simply fun above all else, with great puzzle action that does a good job of tying the power of Godzilla to match making for a worthwhile download.

Another tie-in to the Godzilla reboot hits the App Store - only this one is actually fun? Huh. Imagine that!

Just a fun ass game. Beat this twice. It was a fun puzzle game that I wish was actually longer. Mad they got rid of it on iPhone.

A Godzilla action game could have gone in many different directions, but this puzzle game only lumbers along one safe, predictable path.

Godzilla - Smash3 is a reasonable puzzler let down by its progressively lary IAPs and bizarre use of its licence.

It's an incredibly fun game until you hit the pay wall. Godzilla looks fantastic in his new design and looks even cooler when he's smashing and bashing his way through whatever the military can throw at him. The tile connecting is smart and is well thought out. Again, my only complaint is the pay wall where you have to pay in order to continue, other than that the game is a fun little app that is surprisingly well put together.

The game suffers from repetition in its levels, mostly confined to a single match-three gameplay mechanic. As a part of the pre-release culture that should ideally build anticipation among players, this aspect feels rather dull.

An intriguing take on the Godzilla franchise. Not a monster fighting game but a monster puzzle game. The game looks good and plays smooth enough. The puzzle elements, chaining identical symbols to power Godzilla's various attacks work well and constantly evolve to test your skill and mettle. Extras can be bought from the in game store such as exploding tiles, extra life/continues. time and linking blocks that can be used to link differing blocks together to form larger chains. These aren't cheap for what they are and it's in there implementation that the game begins to show it's true motive. By level 9 you hit the first and most glaring problem. Timed levels. Here it becomes obvious to the player that rather than a supplement to play the extras actually become built in necessities, a pay wall if you will. Here you notice that time blocks are few in number and don't fall as frequently as the really should. This was fixed in the 1.2 patch with both a greater frequency of drops and larger time gains and made the game highly enjoyable, truly a test of skill. UNFORTUNATELY, two days later the game reverted to it's original version in update 1.3. Reinstating the pay wall and a block to the players enjoyment. ultimately the implementation of timed levels and extras show the game to be nothing more than a money grab and a poorly executed one at that, making no attempts to hide it's motives and placing a barrier to play before only the wealthiest. Overall this Is a fun good looking game till you hit the pay wall, it then becomes an exercise in frustration and ultimately abandonment. I do urge Godzilla and puzzle fans to try it, but only till you hit the pay wall. After that find something more rewarding and deserving of your time.
