Enjoyed it enough to push through the many bugs and crashes right up until the end. After 1 crash in the final sequence I looked up the issue and saw a video of it crashing 4 TIMES during this sequence for another playing and being unfinishable. Decided not to waste my time. Completely unacceptable state to release a game in.

It's this kind of game where you don't know if it wants to be a game or a strange depiction of art. Sometimes you don't know what to do.

This magical abstraction, artistic graphics and a pleasant space journey is a bit difficult to enjoy, sometimes annoying gameplay. Everything else is magical.

A delightful small adventure. The visuals alone are worth the ride, but the story is also very good. The gameplay could have offered a little more, but the sum of the rest of the game covers for its short comings.

Not the best gameplay ever and a little buggy but it offers a nice experience, worth a try.

This is an example of how indie games can go just a bit too far. Genesis Noir is visually striking but fails in every other department. It's simply not fun to play or explore. It's confusing most of the time, but not in ways that give way to pleasant discoveries or puzzle solving. More in the click on everything variety. And even when you stumble upon the way forward, you still don't really understand any of it. It incorporates science concepts in an abstract and pretentious "Genesis" story to... uh... explain... uh... solve a murder? Something like that. It just doesn't make much sense. The "Noir" bit exists in the music and some of the visuals, but what's the point? It's not a noir story, really. It's just all over the place. If you extract meaning from it, good for you, but I'm pretty sure it's all coincidental. Genesis Noir is the classic example of people assuming they should like something because it seems artsy and hard to understand and different. It's striking, artsy, minimalist visuals seems to be a trend these days with games like West of Loathing and Superhot. But the game still has to deliver in terms of being a game, or it's all frosting and no cake. And that's exactly the problem here.

Nice to look at but very bad to play is not a winning formula. Whoever did the art in Genesis Noir ought to be pretty peeved at whoever did the game design.

The game looks good, but the gameplay is very repetitive and can be very boring at times. Still, a moderately good game.

A great way to trigger an epileptic seizure. Not a terrible game, but I am not so impressed as other reviewers here. One point for originality, which is also questionable, cause "There is no game" did it sooner and way better...

Pretty verging on beautiful, but cold, hollow, and ultimately dull experience. No single gameplay element can be said to work well. The characters and plot are both incredibly thin (nobody does almost anything, almost nothing happens) and are told in wild abstractions such that it's hard to even say with certainty that anybody really interacted with anybody else in the entire game. Also, the game's sense of space and movement is absolutely **** Again, the visuals are nice, but not nearly nice enough to compensate for the extremely unrewarding, scattered gameplay. If this were a 15-minute (max) animated short, it might have worked to a degree. As it is, it's just a confused string of minigames.

This is an original very creative game, great visuals and **** me its more like an interactive art piece than a game play-through.
