Grindstone is pretty to look at but man oh man, this gameplay ****. It takes about 5 minutes to explore everything that Grindstone has to offer. After that, it's just hours and hours of mindless grinding, trying to beat 10 levels just to experience a sliver of a predictable new gameplay element which is run into the ground over the course of the next 20 levels.

Blind Drive is a potentially interesting concept in dire need of even a lazy, half-hearted execution. You would think that if the devs didn't have to make even a single visual there would be something interesting going on in the audio department, the writing department, really anything interesting at all. There isn't. To even call the game one-note feels unduly generous.

Nice to look at but very bad to play is not a winning formula. Whoever did the art in Genesis Noir ought to be pretty peeved at whoever did the game design.

70% of your time in Biomutant is spent in unforgivably bad cutscenes and extraordinarily dull item menus. The open world? Linear and empty. The gameplay? So plodding and plain it makes you wonder if THQ Nordic wanted any part of this game to be fun or enjoyable at all.
