Let me start by saying, that the point & click adventures are one of my favourite genres. Games like The Longest journey, Gabriel Knight, Day of the tentacle, Fate of the Atlantis, Loom and Deathgate I consider among the greatest games I ever played. But Whirlight has too many obvious flaws and annoyances to be one of them. I welcome the difficulty, but not when it is at the expense of the fun and frustrating as hell. Do not get me wrong, puzzles in this game are not excruciatingly hard, but the constant fetch quests, shifting to the right time and running from point A to B to C, then back to A, then to D is not how I picture the fun adventure. Whirlight also lacks the inner logic and be sure, that one way or the other u will end up trying every item in your inventory on every interactive object in the game. But I should also mention the pros. First of all this game oozes the production values perhaps more, than any other p&c adventure for the last couple of years. The graphics are amazing and so are the voice acting and animations. Some jokes and references can also be funny. It is also very long, perhaps way too long for its own good. I shall conclude this by saying, that while I've had some fun playing this game, I can only recommend it to the hardcore adventure fans, desperate for another dosage of their genre, or whait until it is on a sale.

Great example of the speedrun game, made by the fans of speedrunning. Not exactly my type of game, but what it does it does right...

Just as its predecessor, only slightly above average. Not so linear as FFXIII, but still same boring battles and most importantly I did not care about the characters at all. Graphically it looks amazing for ps3 era, but the gameplay is shallow and the story pathetic. I cannot recommend this game to longtime FF fans. I am sorry, Square Enix, please, go back to your roots.

Hard as hell and not always fair. It has clunky controls and terrible camera, but still remains surprisingly fresh and funny.

A great way to trigger an epileptic seizure. Not a terrible game, but I am not so impressed as other reviewers here. One point for originality, which is also questionable, cause "There is no game" did it sooner and way better...

What a criminally underrated hidden gem this is. It is not without its flaws, but this game is wonderful, with plenty of colorful characters and fun puzzles. It is probably the best point and click adventure game since Unavowed. Do not mind what the critics are saying. They are bunch of pretentious hypocrits, who gave any stupid fps high score and cannot appreciate intelligent indie adventure.

This is more of a walking simulator, than an actual game. It is going there and back again over and over. The narrative is pretty solid though and the relationship between Henry and Delilah is really interesting. Dialogues are smartly written and voice acting is very good. But, the most of the time I was bored by constant strolling and the lack of an actual gameplay. Also the conclusion is very weak. My rating: 5 out of 10.

By far, the worst game I have played this year. The unfinished and buggy piece of crap, to which I cannot give a low score, for some reason. Biased much, Metacritic?

One of the most underrated action games in the history. This game has it all. The style, the elegance, the awesome action sequences, the simple enviromental puzzles, and above all, this is one of the first games, if not the first one ever, that introduced the functional sniper rifle into the gameplay.

What a beautiful game. The music, the visual art, the atmosphere. The best purchase this year, alongside with Unavowed and Pillars of eternity 2.
