There is an absolute ton of stuff to be found in the Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion including the Aht Urghan themselves. New character classes, new and frightening looking monsters and more importantly new experiences in a world that needed a shot in the arm.

While still adding cool features this expansion fell short for me and I don't know if it's directly related but I quit the game a few months after but that might have been due to general exhaustion.

The real treasure here is the addition of new jobs, which is a first for the game's North American player base. Overall, this is a great package, with even more promises down the road, including Chocobo breeding. [Sept. 2006, p.80]

My personal opinion is that this expansion was a much-needed breath of fresh air for the MMORPG. However, for Square Enix to continue to keep the game interesting, they will need to pull out a trump card, or else gamers could move on to bigger or better things.
