Those hoping to see the franchise return to its legendary roots, or those (like me) who are just sick of the Final Fantasy XIII universe are likely to come away less impressed. It's nice that we've finally gotten the opportunity to play this game, but I'm not convinced it was worth the wait.

Such an amazing game. To me is strange to see rewiers who give bigger notes to 15 and 16 when the combat and rp system is way better. For those who don't know Type-0 was the first action rpgFF but becouse how was implemented is way better then 15 and 16. You don't controll only 1 character but 3 from a selection of 12 each with their builds, spells and attacks. You can change anytime you want one of the 3 with another of the 9th you have in reverse when they die one in reverse come and take its place. This makes the combat so much tactical becouse some characters are DPS, others are tankier, other have good support with buffs and healing. In combat you can change from one to another with the push of a button so you can agro enemies then change with your other 2 characters and deal more Dmg from back or sides. There is also an active targeting for for witch the first mission explain it way better then I could. The story is also pretty good. The school anturage of your class gives the game a tree houses vibes where you go to classes and do guests for your classmates and everything you learn aplies directly on the field. The overall story is great and I encourage everyone to see at least the intro video where some of the political themes are set. If you like avatar is something like when the fire nation attacks.Finally the characters are so human and you attach to everybody on your class so much to the point you will have a bad time deciding who to main and who to bench. Maybe people had excuses to not play it when it was a psp only game but now with the expansion on PS4 you don't have any excuse. The game is also dirt cheap constantly dropping under 20$

A great game with a lot of cute girls. In case you didn't know, they took a lot of care to make it so the panties that each girl wears is reflective of their personality.

There's some decent stuff here. The tower defense minigame is pretty fun. Some good strategy in planning which team members will work better for certain missions. The social aspect is a neat idea. Story completely lost me though. Just not very engaging and bogged down in so much lore and minutiae.

Type-0 HD has everything a FF fan could ask for: A superb battle system, lots of characters, hours upon hours of interesting quests and a great story. It is quite strange, but the best Final Fantasy game of the recent years is a port from a PSP game.

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD won't satisfy every fan of the series, but it is a good offer that deserves a try, specially because it is a spin-off. Type-0 HD has minor flaws, but thanks to its interesting history, formidable soundtrack and large amount of characters, missions and past references, it offers great replay value, a rare quality among games nowadays.

Type-0 HD's many technical shortcomings may have been forgiven if it were ported to the PS Vita instead of a current-gen console. Despite including stalwarts like chocobos, Odin, Moogles, Airships and a major character named Cid, Type-0 HD did not feel like a Final Fantasy product, especially in terms of quality.

I thought this was fun 15 to 20 hours experience that I did have some issues with but overall enjoyed my time with it and would recommend if you like other FF games, I had a long of fun with the combat style and all the different styles, it felt quite polished to me for an older game, I thought the story was mostly good up until the last couple of hours where it pretty much just went off the rails from there and kind of lost me, I thought it was going on a good path and I really wish it went in a different direction then it did. I'm always skeptical with games that market a wide range of main characters, I find the often result is a very bland underdeveloped group of individuals and this unfortunately did fall into that trap, you really didn't get much substance to the characters other then a very touching cut scene towards the end of the game that I did enjoy but wished there were more of.

Ok the intro fairly explained what was going on. So I wasn't confused who was who and what was what. Not the first time I have seen a story involving enhanced teen soldiers. Technically I could tell this was a hand held port quality by today's standards. Small environments and constant loads between tiny environments. The NPC look PS1 gen, but the playable characters look PS2 gen. Simple hack and slash which I do admit I was getting into. Then that awful mini map strategy mini game kicked in and I was totally out. By today's standard this probably would be a ok phone/tablet game, but for a console release nope not ok.
