Its surprisingly deep and satisfyingly weighty combat engine combined with three strong and varied player characters and a host of cleverly-designed enemies elevate it above the usual button-mashing experience perhaps expected of entries in this genre. It’s got an excellent arcade mode that branches off in various directions as you make your way to the final boss battle, as well as a ton of unlockable modes and extras to keep you coming back for more. Whether you’re a learned fan of old-school beat’em ups or you just like pummelling the life out of mutant punk pussycats and monkeys dressed as Bruce Lee, you owe it to yourself to experience what Sebastian Garcia has created here; it’s easily one of the best beat’em ups we’ve played.

Fight’N Rage is one of the best beat ‘em up we’ve played in a long time. If you missed it when it first came out, make sure you don’t miss it again.

I was extremely turned off by its initial presentation, but I'm glad I gave it a try! The game is extremely fun and challenging and the best brawler I've played to date!

I hadn't had so much fun with a beat'm up since the times of Streets of Rage 2 & 3. This game is a must

Fight'N Rage has a name that suggests an old school beat'em-up and that's exactly what it is, a tribute to some of the classic names of this dimension of gaming that was so popular in decades past. But that's not the only thing that Fight'N Rage gets right - its gameplay mechanics amount of content, different endings and top notch audiovisual environment all contribute to make this one classic-style beat'em-up that is worthy to enter the Nintendo Switch of any fan of the style.

In some ways the game feels pigeonholed by its genre and its aesthetic qualities don't do it any favors, but Fight'N Rage elevates the hot-blooded action of old-school beat em' ups to new heights.

Fight’N Rage is a thoroughly enjoyable beat’em up; it’s well balanced gameplay grants no small amount of fun. The only downsides are content locked behind difficult tasks for casual players and poorly done fan-service that takes away from the story’s tone.

Fight’N Rage reminds you of a classic ‘90s arcade game, though the controls don’t hold up. Otherwise, with nostalgic graphics and music, it’d be a great game.

This game is criminally underrated. After diving into TMNT: Shredders Revenge and Streets of Rage 4, I was anxious to get into another beat em up, but Fight'n Rage just didn't initially appeal to me. I thought the male fan service was unnecessary (which I still find to be extremely true) and the overall presentation was lacking. Well, I took a chance and realized that it looks way better in action, and holy moly does it have the quality where it counts. For those who enjoy beat em ups, it's all about how it "feels." This game feels incredible to play. The depth is perfect for a game like this.... not as intense as a fighting game, but way more to do than just walk up to an enemy and hit attack as fast as possible. It's one of those games that when you put it down, you just want to pick it back up and keep punching those baddies until they explode into a pile of bones.

This game's got style for days. Retro pixel art and a heavy soundtrack, and several routes to go through, it's a pumping, incredibly difficult beat 'em up. It's pretty high quality for an indie game, especially when it was all made by once person. Overall, though, it really is a stimulation overload. Heavy music, swarming enemies, bouncing breasts, shaking screen everywhere you go. There's little to no way to change any of that. I was never a huge fan of 1v1 fighting games, because they have too much reliance on the combo system. Rather than intuitively sparring with a foe, you must spend hours practicing the same exact combos in the same order, then execute them flawlessly in matches. It's not fun for me. Streets of Rage 4 was a total banger, with the potential for combos as a cherry on top. Fight'N Rage relies almost exclusively on combos, to its detriment. There are only so many moves, and if you want to overkill minions, or properly fight bosses, you NEED to memorize combos and pull them off, over and over and over. It's tedious! I can appreciate there only being three characters to play as in story mode, seeing as how in-depth and unique each one is. It's a matter of quality over quantity. For a while. Ricardo's a strong, slow character with fewer moves than the others. The spinning lariat being his only special really hinders the variety of his moveset, and being 1/3rd of the cast? Ouch. I love a good beat 'em up, but I don't envision doing those same, few combos forever. It's either that, or plain lose. Bummer.

I bought this on sale and I still regret wasting my money. Level design is terrible and enemy patterns are ridiculous. Also, the way women are depicted in this particular game is sick and disgusting. This game is an offense to the genre. Worst title on the Switch.
