What a classic! I loved this game from the start to finish! Need to have a remake!

Legend. If I review as an old gamer remembering my first impressions in 2000. Pros.: - Dune theme. - Music. - Factions and their bonus units. - Cut scenes and aesthetics. - Variety of missions. Cons.: - Difficulty. - Harkonnen + Emperor are too hard to play. - Ordos saboteur is too hard. If I review based on my current experience. Pros.: - Dune theme. - Funny cut scenes. Yet, not very necessary. - Flexible game missions. - Super weapons and unique units are intriguing but do not heavily affect tactics. - Medium or easy to finish a campaign in a week. - Music is still stunning. Cons.: - AI is too dumb. - Unit movement abilities are too primitive. You click to move somewhere, and they go back because they "stuck." - Stupid concrete building necessity. - Why no option to build multiple units? - Special weapons... Well... Could be more to be honest. Overall: the game feels outdated now. It requires HD modification and some tweaks on AI and building functioning.

One of the best games ever. This created the entire gengre. You choose one of the 3 houses, get quests and fight it out on the dunes of arakus. The one knock is that is was done is DOS so it won't run on today's windows machines without a patch. You can get those on the internet.

This game was ahead of its time and its definitely a masterpiece. The music, the 3 factions and their own unique things. Everything about this game felt so cool. I cant believe this game is so old, I will never forget this game.

You can play this game at snail speed or super-fast, there is nothing in-between. No idea why there's even slider for game speed when it barely even works. Other than that, mediocre. This game was not created with the Red Alert engine, and it's not the first Dune RTS game. Nearly every C&C or Dune game is better than this. Has great music and cut scenes though.
SummaryWhile some may take away from Dune 2000 a fleeting sense of nostalgia for the classic, most will invariably leave the game disappointed and wondering how a true sequel might have turned out.
