It's an amazing game that proves just how much can be achieved with a simple but carefully tuned gameplay loop. I rested and thought about how long not to, and if you need to clear your head every now and then, I highly recommend it, especially on Switch where it's freshly released. [Issue#322]

An indie game as visually appealing as relaxing. It is also simple and addictive. You can not ask for more. It should be in the library of lovers of light board games.

Dorfromanik succeed in nearly all it sets out to do – delivering a fun, relaxing and addictive gameplay loop that’s perfectly suited for the Switch. If you want a game that’s easy to pick up and play in and play in between this holiday’s bigger release, Dorfromanik is just the ticket.

Very relaxing game, perfect to disconnect from a stressful life.
I've never played the board game but learning the rules was super simple. It's like a live puzzle that allows to create landscapes. Seasons change around the board, you can unlock cool tiles and have a creator mode that allows you to play with total control over the board to make the landscape you want.

An absolutely underrated game. This is perfect for those times you want to decompress after a long day and just BE. There's enough of a point/scoring system to where you're motivated to do well, but not so intense that you're stressed about getting everything perfect, either. This deserves every bit of praise.

10/10 might seem like a hugely exaggerated score, but... This is my GO TO relax game. I return to it month after month, just to bask in its soothing presence. The lovely tunes. The gentle colors. The tranquil sparks of thinking stir my mind in the perfect way to think just enough to not be bored. It's pretty much the most Entertaining form of Meditation you can get yourself as a gift.

Dorfromantik may not have a ton of staying power, but it offers up a satisfying and chill puzzle experience that we feel is worthwhile in the end. If you’re on the lookout for a game that doesn’t expect much of you and fits well for those late-night sessions just before bed, we’d recommend you give this one a look if it sounds interesting.

Dorfromantik offers a video game experience without any violence, multiplayer or deep storytelling; and with this successfully creates a pure, relaxing building game.

Dorfromantik balances its strategic and cozy elements well, and it's easy to fall into a serene trance of dropping tiles. Pulling the camera back to reveal the full scope of my landscape always feels like a satisfying reward for my subtle, hard work, much like stepping back to admire a finished painting. While it's not the sort of puzzle game I feel compelled to play more than a session or two a day, I always appreciate the improved mood with which it leaves me.

Dorfromantik is a relaxing and yet eye-pleasing experience that fits Nintendo Switch amazingly, despite some control issues on this platform.

I don't understand some of the negative reviews. The game is exactly what the developers advertise, a soothing puzzle game, with wholesome visuals. My go to game to chill out. I really like the Switch version to play on the couch or on the go.

Dorfromantik challenges players to place hexagonal tiles containing a variety of terrain types (forests, villages, water etc) in order to create an idyllic landscape. Points are awarded for matching terrain types across tiles, and for creating areas of the same terrain type above a specified size. Unusually for a game such as this there is no campaign or challenges of any type, instead the only real aim is to try to beat your previous best score(s). Whilst this does help the game achieve the chill vibe it’s clearly aiming for, it does potentially reduce the playability for those who like a more focused experience.

A boring overhyped game. Not what i expected. You move tiles around, like in a puzzle game. There does not happen much else. I don't see the fun in it.
SummaryDorfromantik is a peaceful building strategy and puzzle game where you create a beautiful and ever-growing village landscape by placing tiles. Explore a variety of colorful biomes, discover and unlock new tiles and complete quests to fill your world with life!
