Dogos
Dogos introduces a very interesting open levels structures, but fails to couple it with a sufficiently deep and varied mechanics, ending up in a quite repetitive and boring gameplay.
A solid game that overcomplicates its genre roots with its unique twist. Production values are solid, but also bland when considering this is a game with little diversity in the game play.
Dogos tries to recreate the feeling that shrouded lates 80's coin-op cabinets, adding to the recipe a pinch of contemporaneity. Sadly the result is a tasteless shoot'em up.

Fire fire fire fire. Hard but fair. Sweet graphics & gameplay. Controls are very responsive. Music is good but could have been good to have some extra tracks. Wish it had multiplayer! Strong buy ++++

Dogos is a fun top-down shooter with customizable difficulty levels and some interesting mechanics. The ability to move your ship and the camera added another layer not typically found in a retro-style game like this. The levels and music are repetitive but if you can look past that, there is a fun old-school game here that brings me back to the days of playing gems such as R-Type or the more recent Geometry Wars.

Dogos tries to do quite a lot, but in doing so it is sadly underwhelming in a lot of categories. It's like the old saying, a Jack of all trades is a Master of none, and that is what Dogos is a prime example of. Had there been more of a focus on the open sandbox exploration, and certainly better hit detection on the ground weaponry, Dogos could have been a lot better than it is.

Solid action, that mixes retro-action à la Xevious with a 360-degree camera control and a hint of bullet hell. After Project Root this is a clear step forward for Opqam.

The gameplay can be as tight as you like, but if there’s nothing to inspire me to boot the game back up of an evening, well… OPQAM, I’m afraid you’re missing the mark.

SummaryDogos incorporates current technology into classic shmup design: 3D visuals, a dynamic camera, and the ability to move through scenarios like an open world. Challenge your skills and senses to the beat of a catchy soundtrack and explosive campaign. [Playstation.com]
