For the first few hours you’ll be locked in the “combo-block-dodge-ability” cycle, but as hero unlocks additional powers, more and more elements are dropped, until all that’s left is the use of abilities. [Issue#242, p.65]

Everything here is fake and stilted which results in story being not engaging – though it keeps trying to get our attention by serving a never-ending sequence of cutscenes. It gets to a point where for every fifteen minutes of watching lacklustre animations we get five minutes of walking and one uninteresting fight. [12/2019, p.62]

Devil’s Hunt is one hunt not worth going on in this game. It is shrouded in a myriad of technical, gameplay, and even voice issues. The story is even half-told and it is expected to be finished in a sequel. Avoid for now.

Interesting story. Modern engine. A little crooked physics in the game, but that's okay, you can play. It is clear that the game is a little worse than the competition, but still they spent time on it, the developers tried to do better, give them a chance, do not write frankly bad reviews, do not give too low marks, otherwise not will have a good projects!

Devil's Hunt is an abomination in practically every way. There are so many cons that I lack adjectives to describe how bad its execution is and how frustrating the experience of playing it is. But let's start from the beginning. The game's premise is a good one, encompassing the eternal conflict of heaven vs. hell, from Lucifer's executioners to Gabriel's archangels and limited company. And... just. A vast mythological field to be explored that is totally wasted by amateur script, cliché and shallow. The minor characters, villains and iconic figures from mythology could have been much, much better crafted. It's possible to think of dozens of bosses and the like to implement in the game in the best God of War style, but that doesn't happen by far here. The game's story is extremely rushed and underdeveloped. Everything happens too quickly, with various conveniences and without any weight for the protagonist. Speaking of which, the main character is apathetic, generic and even disposable. No matter how many bad things happen to him, or how strong his enemies are, he faces everything with the same negligence and arrogance as ever, meaning: nothing believable and downright pathetic. As for the technical aspects... it's a freak show, gentlemen. The performance/optimization of the game is simply MEDIOCRE. Constant frame drops, regardless of the chosen quality, chokes, render delays and stuterings all the time. Even having a setup above the recommended the game does not maintain a constant rate of 60 fps EVER!!! I dare say that it doesn't even handle a constant 30fps at certain times. Add that to the in-game camera that's horribly close and awful, and you've got a nightmare in front of your eyes. I bought it at a bargain price and was stunned to discover that it was released in 2019. The graphic quality is like a 2009 game at the very least, and I'm being kind in comparison given that at this time we had games like Uncharted 2 on the market... As bad as that just your combat is extremely tight. Commands have a huge delay and are not very responsive; and with a problematic camera and damage sponge enemies don't help gameplay at all. That wasn't bad enough, your character doesn't have a block, just dodges, which forces you to slip through the scene in a really buggy way in order not to take damage from enemies. Otherwise, the game is totally linear, with a very weak and repetitive soundtrack. The game is around 6 hours long and, when you finish it, the feeling is that you only played a prologue, as the story barely advances and leaves room for sequels. I don't recommend it, not even in promotions. With this amount you can buy real masterpieces.

This game is great, absolute masterpiece in a genre that hasn’t really been popular in the scene. There’s great voice acting, a beautiful soundtrack and tons of action. If you’re looking for a great storytelling action based role playing game while fighting for good or evil, this is the way to go. Aside from a few frame drops here and there and the random audio drop, this game is a complete masterpiece. A diamond in the rough if you will.

In addition to a spectacularly unlikable antihero protagonist, Devil’s Hunt has combat that sometimes feels like an afterthought and endless cutscenes that desperately need the help of better writers and designers. I liked its story, and a better executed Devil’s Hunt could give Devil May Cry or that other Polish novel-based game a run for its money.

I buy this game at Halloween sales and I loved it, it has a vibe of the old action games like DMC and it was cool. Shame that there was not more angels. Maybe in DLC, I hope!

Devil's Hunt is a train wreck: from the shallow and dull story to the technical flaws and imprecise combat system, the game looks like a product with a concept from twenty years ago.

Devil's Hunt is one of those games that failed to reach its potential, thus can't be considered a good AA game. Very shallow story, bad character design and repetitive gameplay are the main reasons that you should probably avoid this game.

There’s no fun to be had in Devil’s Hunt’s version of Hell. The fighting is broken, the level design is amateurish and the story is weak.

A game about the clashing forces of heaven and hell deserves to be far more interesting, if not in gameplay, then at least in story. Devil’s Hunt fails to deliver on both fronts. It does have a neat take on the afterlife — Lucifer is essentially a shady businessman who outsources his dirty work, and the angels wear suits and conduct their operations from a pristine office tower – but these ideas are lost in the banality of everything else surrounding them. This is not a hunt worth embarking on.

Devil’s Hunt is a game with obvious flaws, many of which players might excuse for a chance to tear the head off a hulking demon lord or throw unholy lances through the grotesque, glowing body of an angel. There are many more who will watch the trailer on Steam or YouTube and decide the ‘80s metal album aesthetic and combo-happy combat are worth stomaching a story with an infuriating number of dropped threads and unanswered questions. But none of it is worth a writing team that seems to believe rape can be used and excused on the altar of motivating their male protagonist.

Story 7/10 Opponents intelligence 4/10 Environment 8/10 Music 9/10 Animation and movement 5/10 Ambient sounds 10/10 This game is good and bad in one. I really enjoyed it but i think devs need more time to learn. This game has potential, they have potential, I mean studio. Devil's Hunt is like old times game, so its ok for me. Good luck and work hard devs ;)

I couldn't keep playing after the first couple of hours,Not a lot of games make me quit. The game feels like it was made 8 years ago. Animation is lacking at best, The graphics are demanding but not really giving you a fair return for the GPU effort The fighting is not really exciting, i mean, its not bad but this is a hack and slash game, its all about the fighting and i didn't feel that the game gave me that satisfaction when beating opponents or bosses. The soundtrack is good but sometimes out of place the voicing is good but the facial expressions are nonexistent and i like to see my character get angry and not just hear it

You play as Desmond, once a bon vivant son of a rich entrepreneur. Desmond's life... Read More
