Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters is a sequel done right. It builds on the original’s strong foundation, adding content and refining its ideas into an experience that looks and plays better. Tamsoft has put together one of the most unique and fun soccer games ever made, blending the real-life sport with the over-the-top anime it’s based on.

Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters is a flashy and extreme soccer game that anyone can enjoy. Though the pacing of matches in the story mode can be a little bit bumpy, the narrative itself, in addition to the satisfying gameplay and solid visuals, makes this an accessible and highly enjoyable sports title – even if you’ve never interacted with the source material.

This game is awesome! The animations and the shots are pretty well done. The gameplay does take some getting used to as it is different from the first game but it is a blast once you know what you are doing. The story can be a burden to get through, but it is worth it to have a wide variety of teams to play with. As someone who loved the first one, it does differ, but once you accept that, you can enjoy it for what it is, a fun, action-packed, and fast-paced soccer game!

With Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters, Tamsoft successfully evolved the arcade formula of the first installment by adding mechanics—such as the new save move and the Chain System—that enrich the gameplay and offer significantly more depth than its predecessor. It is a shame, however, that there isn't more extra content, and there are a few rough edges that we hope—at least in part—might be ironed out through post-launch support.

Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters brings the hot-blooded youth of various soccer teams to the fore. The gameplay has various mechanics for you to take advantage of while keeping you on your toes. The story has lots of predictable tropes, and there’s a learning curve due to the number of techniques to learn. It’s a game that’s perfect for anyone experiencing youth through soccer but may not attract anyone outside that demographic.

Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters doesn't reinvent the formula, but it does refine it enough to make it a highly recommended sequel for any fan of the series. Its excellent recreation of the World Youth tournament, the spectacular nature of its matches, and the vast amount of content for customizing your player more than make up for its somewhat simple mechanics and limited selection of game modes. It doesn’t try to be a great soccer game, but that’s precisely why it succeeds as a magnificent Captain Tsubasa simulation.

Can a game that focuses on its story fail in that regard and still keep you glued to the screen for hours? Well... yes. Despite a flood of poorly executed cutscenes, this arcade-style football game manages to deliver a ton of pure fun.

Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters delivers faster, more satisfying matches and plenty of fan-service through its dramatic story moments and character interactions. However, limited modes, shallow progression, and a lack of meaningful customization make it feel more like a refinement than the ambitious sequel it could have been.

The game is amazing if you are looking for a soccer game with superpowers. Excellent to play with your friends / online. The game storyline is amazing and very long. A lot of teams to choose and the CaC customization is really good. Yes doesn't have Dream Team but those features can be updated later.

Obviously, It was asking too much to increase the content from the first game and to polish the gameplay. This sequel has less content and is mor messy because of the light effects.

Game is so different from RONC, it feels more like a fighting game rather than a soccer game.
