The open-world aspect of Biomutant did more harm than good, with the gargantuan, post-apocalyptic realm this heroic, mutated rodent will explore being mostly an empty one, and with the rest of the experience being repetitive and unpolished. More of a disappointment rather than a bad game, try it out only if willing to spend around many fun, but not that fun hours.

Biomutant is like layers and layers of great ideas drawn on an imperfect mindmap. A great cornerstone to build upon, but still lacking in remaining coherent. Still - great fun in short amounts.

Biomutant conquers a prominent place in the ever-expanding universe of open world games. While it doesn't innovate in the mechanics it employs, it implements them intelligently, giving us plenty of reasons to explore a vibrant and gaudy world filled with adorable creatures.

A fun little game. It's not a game that will give you an amazing experience that will make you shout "Absolute cinema!", but it's fun and worth playing to pass the time. Rating 8/10

Biomutant is a peculiar game. It’s clear that the developers poured their hearts into this title, but it’s also hard not to notice that the game feels somewhat undercooked. At first, the exploration really drew me in. I couldn’t stop myself from venturing further and further into this incredibly colorful and diverse world. Unfortunately, the deeper you go, the worse it gets. After a while, exploration becomes painfully repetitive, with tons of mostly useless junk scattered everywhere. All the puzzles in the game, if you can even call them that, are extremely simplistic and all revolve around the exact same mechanic. Combat is genuinely enjoyable, but only if you decide to spice things up yourself, because in reality, you don’t need to use any of the special abilities the game offers. You can just circle around an enemy long enough while shooting at it with a pistol.Speaking of combat, it’s worth mentioning that the game features a very well-designed weapon crafting system. Using the parts you find, you can modify your current weapons or create entirely new gear from scratch. The main storyline is weak, and your choices boil down to a black-and-white decision between being good or evil. Sample choices include KILL THE CUTE SQUIRREL or PET THE SQUIRREL. Seriously. What I did enjoy were the side quests from secondary characters. Those were often genuinely pleasant. I’d also like to praise the excellently executed Polish localization. It’s clear the translator put in real effort, and the item and location names they came up with are truly great. Unfortunately, there’s a small issue with voice implementation. Sometimes the narrator reads dialogue too slowly, and it gets cut off halfway through.Despite everything, I still think the game is worth giving a shot, especially if you manage to grab it on sale.

I don't know, I liked it, it's fun and quite original, it's not boring, the plot is ok, everything works, I recommend it even if it's perhaps not a masterpiece for many, but it's fun and it makes the time pass, the settings aren't bad, the characters are nice, exploring is interesting, it works, and it has those extra things that motivate you to play it.

For the first time in a long time, a game has lived up (and in my opinion surpassed) the hyped that’s been created around it. Frankly, I’ll be surprised if BIOMUTANT is not game of the year.

Biomutant is a solid debut from Experiment 101. Though a couple of the game’s concepts don’t feel entirely fleshed out, there’s still a lot to appreciate. The amount of variety in both the narrative and in combat ensures that no two players have an identical experience. With a fluid combat system and enough style to spare, Biomutant is still a formidable RPG.

People are giving this game an unfairly hard time in my opinion. The Sreenshots and Trailers show everything this game has to offer. No false marketing. No empty promises. What you see is what you get. And I got what i wanted: Having a blast playing it. Most flaws i see in other reviews are just lazily copied from reviewers giving CP 2077 10s across the board. And we know how that turned out. Because you have to play this game for longer than a goshdarn hour to know what this game is about. Narration ****? Turn him off in the Audio Settings. Combat ****? Try something other than mashing buttons and you get the depth you want so badly. Story ****? Play the Exploration Part of the Game instead and RP. Havent seen a good story in games for like 10 years, so no expectations were set. I just want to be a radioactive Catrat shooting big dudes in the face. You know... like what an RPG is about. World is Empty? This isn't Fallout where you find 20 guns and 50 scrap in a single hut. In most post-apocalyptic games it would come to mind that in a span of a couple hundred years 98% of stuff would've been looted already, right? Well, here we are. Finding the last remnants that were'nt found yet. Also the World is full with different Biomes to look at. Quite the Vibe-Game in that regard. Graphics ****? Depends on preference. Do you need 16k HyperHD Fur and Grass? For me, No. It's good. It's cozy to just walk around and you can easily lose yourself in the world for a couple hours. Vibe. Music ****? Audio. Settings. Exist. Sometimes you need your own tunes to spice things up. I get that. I do it in almost every game now. But musical scores aren't everything. Suite yourself. So the heavens have not blessed us with a Gaming-Jesus yet again. So it's not the best game of the Millenium. Real Shocker. I say: So what? It's still a good Game. In summary: This game was made by a studio of 20 people. After years of making a game that doesn't need a 30GB Day 1 Patch for once and can present itself like it does it should have some value to ask from it's customers. People expect $120 content from a $60 game. The game economy is horrible as it is. Crunching, underpayment, people buying only under steep discounts, ect. The fact that we don't have to pay $80 for games yet is remarkable. Also Hype is never good for games. Dissapoints people more nowadays, because "It's not what i thought it would be"- Nonsense. Reflects in these mixed scores. Support people who did a good job. Buy it and try it. There is always refund if you don't like it. But you're missing out. This game is a gem. And a reminder that some people get filtered by a britishly narrated tutorial.

Biomutant is a game with a big heart. The guys from Experiment 101 have put everything they could into this work and their affection is clearly perceptible. However Biomutant is far from being a perfect work, seasoned with many small defects and a series of characteristics that are too ambitious for a product like this.

With Biomutant, the end result is a game that I enjoyed playing, despite the criticisms and score. I burn out fast with most open-world games, but I wanted to explore every corner of this unconventional world, even when it didn’t always give me a good reason to. I don’t think you can call a game bold enough to mix so many influences together safe, but there’s a distinct sense Experiment 101 came close to playing it safe. Whether from budget restraints, time restrictions, or COVID impacts, I don’t know, but Biomutant needs a sequel or DLC to make the most out of the strong foundation already present.

Biomutant certainly is an ambitious game. This ambition though is what ultimately hurt the experience as a whole. A good fighting system, some gorgeous landscapes, the imaginative friend and foes, the well-thought crafting etc. are unfortunately held back by an utterly tiring open-world design, filled with the most basic and repetitive fetch-quests.

In a manner, Biomutant’s name is self-explanatory. After all, mutation is often a byproduct of a mistake.

Biomutant is what happens when someone makes an Ubisoft game, but without Ubisoft’s resources, experience, talent, or even willingness to take risks. With the exception of the art design, everything about Biomutant feels safe and familiar, but without the confidence or polish needed to make it effective. Safe, familiar, and hopelessly lost in the detritus-littered wasteland between design document and actual game.

i want to like this game more, the combat is very fun and the graphics and music are great, but man this games flow is bad, the dialogues are not fun to sit trough, and the open world while visually pleasing, leaves a lot to be desired, i liked my time a with it but the glaring problems made it sometimes be less than enjoyable

I really wanted to like Biomutant, and for the first five hours or so, I didn't understand why the game was rated so low. There is a lot to do, and the world is pretty big. Exploring it feels rewarding and unique at first, but it quickly becomes monotonous. There are a bunch of different weapons, but they all feel the same. The enemies are all just reskins, so the combat becomes repetitive. The World-Eaters feel underwhelming, and the final fight is poor, too. I usually complete every quest with a quest marker and try to explore all points of interest in games, but I just couldn't do it here. If you're a fan of ARPGs, I'd only recommend picking this one up if you have nothing else to play; otherwise, I'd skip it entirely.

I did not complete the game but did put a fair ammount of hours (30) and its just a bad game overall but it can be fun. Storywise its poorly told, cliche, boring narrator and the gibberbish language doesnt inmerse you at all in the world. Game feels constantly interrupted beetween controls, dialogue and clunkyness of gameplay. Speaking of gameplay it isnt completely bad but it gets easily repetitive, movement is bad and doesnt feel agile, which is bad especially considering that i play as an animal, combat is not the worst i have seen but is far from good, it can be fun at times but it feels limited. The world is boring and predictable you are divided beetween good and bad faction and a lot of elements are ripped from other creations. The rpg elements feel very basic although a bit rewarding on some instances, but far from being good. Overall i wouldnt recommend it, i believe its on a game subscription if you want to try it, you can have some fun but there are games that have some of the premise and executes it a lot better than biomutant.
