Not since Astro Bot in 2024 have I played a game that has made so much of an impression on me, and the hours I've put into completing Big Walk with a friend have not only provided endless entertainment, but also further solidified that friendship, even if, at times, my co-op partner was left incredibly frustrated by my brainless moments or when I decided to punt a key item off a cliff, purely because I could.

I think what Big Walk does that’s so compelling is that it grabs the little part of your brain that is begging to be enriched by curiosity and interaction and massages it ever so gently with your friends as the background. That is not something that you can simply drop people into and hope happens, it is meticulously crafted and planned by expert hands.

Big Walk is completely unique and unlike anything you've played before. Between the inventive puzzles and an island begging to be explored it'll become the new group obsession for you and your friends.

A funny, exciting, and deeply rewarding multiplayer adventure that combines knockabout fun with some surprisingly big ideas.

Forged in the lineage of hiking simulators like Peak, A Short Hike and Baby Steps, Big Walk is a charming, multiplayer expedition about the simple joys of hiking with friends. While there are plenty of quaint puzzles to solve, the crux of the hike is about exploration and discovery- but without the dizzying adrenaline. You may even be inspired to embark on your own real-life hikes, too.

I’m truly excited to keep taking my Big Walks – no matter the off-putting name of the friendslop genre, this game is what you make it, and I believe each group that plays will make it their own unique kind of wonderful.

Big Walk is a triumph. It's a wonderful exercise in hanging out with your mates and getting those grey cells working at the same time, all wrapped up in a quirky and beautiful environment. It facilitates conversation, slapstick, and having a bit of a sit-down in between things.

Big Walk is a wonderful homage to friendship and the great outdoors. It reminded me that the best co-op experiences are about laughing at the journey, communicating in ways you never expected, and making memories with people you adore.

Big Walk is a big win. Evolving the social game format in a way that feels almost unrecognisable, House House has produced something that is as compelling as it is confident in achieving what it set out to achieve. With huge regard given to player freedoms, this title powerfully examines and challenges communication in a way I’ve not seen before in a game and may never see again. Grab your friends, go in blind, remove all other distractions, and experience a game world at the top of its class.

What Big Walk truly offers is a place to just be a gaggle of silly friends in a world where it seems harder and harder to spend real, quality time with the people close to you. Every step across this bizarre island built us up to its final test. The new inside jokes in the form of wacky gestures, the understanding we gained of each other’s strengths, the tailor-made language we’d developed just for this game, they all became tools to help us finally succeed. And we all found ourselves unexpectedly misty-eyed as we said our last goodbyes to the experience.
