Battalion Wars
Never losing focus on the fun design and interesting gameplay, Battalion Wars succeeds in presenting itself as a solid, well-rounded title.
Kuju's strategy title steps up to fill the void left by Zelda, thrilling GameCube owners with a truly superb RTS - the way it's meant to be played.

As a game, Battalion Wars is good; as an experiment in genre cross-breeding and subtle, hand-free franchising, it's very nearly a triumph. [Dec 2005, p.96]

This was one of my absolute favorites on the GameCube back when I was a kid. Really hoping we get this on NSO at some point! Would love to revisit (and beat this for the first time)!

A total hidden Gem. Ok imagine Halo Wars but you can swap in between every unit and individually control it like a third person shooter. Badass. This game is multi-tasking at its peak. It's a silly game that will make you wanna finish the whole campaign. It is a short game however and the controls take a little getting used to. Having said that you should try it if you're into strategy or action shooter games.

Not terrible, was a interesting concept. However grandfather time hasn’t been kind to it. The tactics part of the game isn’t as smart as something like Xcom. Then the shooting concepts aren’t as great or exciting as any other modern day shooter.

At first glance, Battalion Wars may look like a cartoon with campy echoes of old suspense movies. But, make no mistake about it, in the end this game successfully grasps the full potential of the Gamecube.

Sometimes gameplay can feel slightly repetitive, and sometimes managing all the units on screen can be more challenging than it should be. In fact, this is probably the number-one-most-challenging thing about the game.

Battalion Wars is the best game ever made. Simply put, there is no game I've played that can even come close to the quality of this game. You can't call **** unless you've played BW.

Battalion Wars happens to be my first video game, and even after playing a number of WII, Xbox and PS2 games, this one is still my favorite! Even after playing it for nine years, I still find ways to challenge myself by playing each level with a new strategy.

Surprisingly, there is plenty of freedom for tactical experimentation. An occasionally wayward camera and the inability to save mid-mission can annoy but the reward of new firepower and the chance to improve your mission grades keep you playing.

The game isn't bad, but it's really nothing special.

Despite the odd camera and control niggle, it stands out an unpretentious and largely unique example of how to blend strategy and action in a relentlessly entertaining way.

Most of the game is as tedious and exciting as burning ants with a magnifying glass.

The story mode of the battalion wars is intriguing, and the gameplay is active and fun. Introducing war in a cartoon way seems to work with Battalion Wars. New, exciting gameplay. A must have!
