Not even mediocre. Just boring. Boring story, boring characters. Another DEI game, that no one asked for. And guess what, no one is playing it.

Narrative & Character Development is AMAZING; Visuals & Art Direction is GREAT; Music & Sound Design is AMAZING; Gameplay Mechanics are MIDIOCRE; Pacing & Length is OKAY; Technical Performance is OKAY; Technical Performance is OKAY. Overall is an GOOD game.

I was so hyped for this game and it's a huge let down. Janky movement -you feel like the character is barely even touching the planet when they move - a planet with barely any interesting scenery, and two characters we barely event have time to get to know, let alone become emotionally invested in, make this a huge let down. The protagonist's voice is irritating. We don't get enough backstory for either character and certainly not their connection - so why should we care if she finds him? For a narrative driven game to fail so miserably at creating a compelling narrative is impressive. The game is buggy too with the protagonist often moving through cliffs and scenery.

This could have been so much better if they just focused on making a fun game. Instead you get a very derivative title that does everything worse than similar style games. Its also buggy with technical issues and the characters and writing are pretty bad.

Ideal for players who love pure storytelling. There is no combat involved; the mechanics are limited to stealth, evasion, and platforming. While the story is beautiful, the game has its drawbacks—specifically the navigation. Finding your way is difficult, and backtracking through the map can get annoying, especially in the last two chapters. Since the gameplay is heavily focused on walking and climbing, it might not suit everyone. Play it for the story, but don't set your expectations too high.

this game is the biggest piece of ****. it is not about some political reason. This game is just so bad. The story is boring. The game control is so ****. The graphic is like 10years ago. while you're playing this game. What you can get is climb climb and **** climb. Also the trigger of the monster attack is so wired. Also this game have so many stupid bug.

These reviews are unbelievable. Typical, there are also some bad reviews again because of alleged "political statements." It's just baffling. The game is definitely much better than the ratings here suggest. I played it on the regular PS5. There were a few minor glitches, but I've seen far worse bugs in much better-rated games. The relationship between the two main protagonists is very interesting, and the gameplay is fine too; some people are complaining about that, which is completely incomprehensible. Especially since you can customize a lot in the settings. The graphics and sound are good anyway. I would have given the game a 7 or 8, but when I look at some of the scandalous and biased reviews here, I simply have to give it a 10!

It's a pity, I was counting on a game that I would play a little bit, but the condition of the game and the general atmosphere are a disaster. How many more games will have to suffer and studios will have to go bankrupt for you to finally understand. As gamers, we want good games, not woke garbage! I give it 2/10 because after all it has some interesting things, if you are interested in it, wait for the steamsale which will probably come soon and you will be able to buy it for a few dollars.

Aphelion is a total disaster—a buggy, clunky mess masquerading as a sci-fi adventure. Don't Nod botched the basics: traversal is a nightmare of failed jumps and glitchy grappling, stealth is boring filler, and the story drowns in repetitive oxygen micromanagement. Graphics can't save this slog; pure frustration from start to finish. 0/10, skip it.

Bought - Played - Deleted from my console all within 5 hours. APHELION is HANDS DOWN - the WORST / POOREST space game EVER* made. And anyone leaving a review that is anything but, is being PAID to do so. I was excited for this game. I had even put off BETTER games (Crimson Desert) looking forward to this one. Right off, I noticed the copying from other games. Uncharted, and Tomb Raider. I can even say that the designer's behind this game must have truly enjoyed INTERSTELLAR - as it is clear that they are trying to make their own version of the film. Yet Aphelion just falls FAR TOO SHORT. There are scripted kills (Surely used to extend this SHORT* game.) The controls are horrible and the game dev's clearly were hoping that the sales would go first, then all of the horrible criticisms (which they knew* would come) then could follow. Like most games, they've made their money. Aphelion offers NOTHING in the exploration realm - hoping that their backdrops and such will fascinate the gamer. They actors are decent (Not top of the line) and Aphelion fails to gravitate the gamer to them. There are games (FF10) where you are drawn to EVERY character and have a vested interest into how the story will unfold with and for them. Aphelion? Don't even start. I went from rooting for the protagonists to hoping that the enemy would take them down. I think the final straw for me was when the antagonist (main) was trying to find me - and the game literally held me in place - unable to move or anything, until I was found and taken out. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR - DO NOT BUY THIS HORRIBLE / SHORT FAILURE ****!!!!!!!!

This game you either love it or hate it. I love it because I'm a **** for SciFi and Space. The graphics are amazing, the atmosphere is appropriate, good story. Etc. If you liked interestellar you will probably enjoy this game. Just for the setting.

Aphelion is a narrative plateformer. If you grab is clearly a walking simulator. You just climb, do a Little puzzle, read documents and stealth to avoid the monster called « nemesis ». Ok is not engaging when I written this, but on the global, the history is not perfect but is ok, not the best but is not bad at all, we have a great moments in emotion ! Gameplay works, I don’t have any bug can be blocked me in the game. Some people tell is disgusting visually on this point is not true !!! Thats a lie, and I need to put the truth in metacritic. The game is beautifull with a lot of big vista, if you have liked Death stranding, is not at the level of kojima prod but is not ridiculous at all ! The team can be proud of the hard work ! Quality of the cinematic, FX are great too. We liked to move in this world. Music of the game are great too, and the game is really stable ! I have put 8 on metacritic, ( but for me minimum if I give a score on /10, the game need minimum 6/10 and maximum 7/10 ) because some people have putted a bad reviews, and they have just played 20 min on the gamepass and spit on it. I have do it on the gamepass, and I have do it entierly ! And for finish the game is selled for 29,99€ … for the quality and the Time spend on it is Fair ! Is not the great game of the moment yes, but is not the worst and for the price is honest. I want to bring back more objectivity because the players are rude, violent and not honest. The production value at this price is honest !

This game is horrible. Movement is horrible, gameplay is horrible, main char is horrible, graphics are bad and the textures pop. This needed at least more 6 months and a beta test. If you search for "BORING" in a dictionary it shows this game...
