Aniimo is the next big thing. From the incredible creature designs to a world filled with life and magic, there’s just so much to enjoy. There’s a little something for everyone here, although sharing that with people can be a bit cumbersome. Aside from the usual mobile game problems and some UI issues, the game is a great experience. The monetization isn’t too bad, and there’s no gacha for the Aniimo themselves, but you can still buy plenty of things to give you a leg up in terms of consumable items. There’s a lot more coming from Aniimo, and I am very excited to see where it leads.

Aniimo takes a familiar creature-collecting formula and builds a surprisingly broad adventure around it. Idyll is a colorful world worth exploring; its creatures have plenty of uses beyond filling out a collection, and the combination of story, side activities, and progression gives the journey a satisfying sense of discovery. Some of those ideas feel more fully realized than others, but the strongest parts come together well enough to give Aniimo a character of its own. It may not reinvent the genre, but there is more than enough here to make it an engaging creature collector in its own right.

INVEN
The open world stands out for bringing the distinct personalities and ecology of over 200 Aniimo to life. Capturing, Twine, and elemental interactions naturally tie collection and exploration together, though the simplistic combat and lack of polish leave something to be desired. Even so, the game remains highly accessible.

Aniimo is a gorgeous, charming creature-collecting adventure with an impressive amount to see, do, and discover. Its stunning character creator, beautiful open world, and seamless Twining system give every new creature a purpose beyond simply adding it to your collection, while its cozy gameplay makes it easy to settle in for the long haul. It can occasionally feel like it’s trying to do too much, and some quests and systems don’t quite hit the same highs, but there’s still an awful lot to love in this ambitious adventure.

GAMES.CH
Aniimo is a charmingly detailed live service game with a creature collection system, which is simple on the surface and as deep as the player wants to dive into it. With a focus on exploration, collection and housing, players who want a challenging creature battler may find it lacking, but for everyone who enjoys exploring pastel-coloured worlds along fluffy creatures, Aniimo is worth a look.

The Wand Report
Aniimo is a mystifying blend of creature collecting and adventure that not only lets you capture these special characters, but become them too. Yes, there’s so much to do that it gives my brain an occasional case of the sads, but it also thoroughly pleases as you twine with your Aniimos rather than simply enjoying them as a bystander.

At least for the moment, Aniimo cannot even remotely be considered a "Pokémon killer," as it lacks the fundamental elements needed to truly challenge the GameFreak series—most notably the complete absence of a competitive mode worthy of the name. That said, the adventure crafted by Pawprint Studios is a joy to play and will keep you glued to the screen for hours as you hunt for every creature and its variants. Even though the story struggles to leave a lasting impression, the game succeeds in offering a fun-to-explore open world, featuring creatures with consistently impressive designs and gameplay that encourages interaction with each one. Given that the title is free-to-play, features unobtrusive microtransactions, and is available on a wide range of platforms, anyone who enjoys monster-catching games should definitely give it a try.

Gameliner
Aniimo is an interesting creature collector with a strong visual style, unique Twining mechanics, and an open world that gives you plenty of reasons to collect different creatures. Sanctums, sidequests, and a story that sparks curiosity add variety, although occasional animation issues and a layer of mobile-inspired systems hold the experience back. Its free-to-play model remains fairly reasonable, but players tired of energy limits, timers, currencies, events, and microtransactions may find themselves wondering why these restrictions are necessary.

Loot Level Chill
Aniimo is a seriously impressive creature collecting game, with a sprawling world, so much content, and the ability to turn into monsters.

Vandal
Aniimo offers an enjoyable, relaxed open-world adventure that blends creature collection with satisfying exploration. However, the experience remains held back by overly simplistic combat and a cluttered interface typical of free-to-play designs. Despite these shortcomings and occasional technical bugs, the game provides a solid foundation for casual play.
