70s-style Robot Anime Geppy-X is a fun experience tied into a '70s-style anime about giant robots, but can also be frustrating at times. If you're expecting something akin to R-Type or Gradius, add a bit of bullet hell in some areas and you basically have the right idea with the difficulty. Being able to swap between three forms to suit your playstyle makes for interesting gameplay, and the rewind and quick save features help curb the difficulty issues, but it might be worth it to check out the demo before shelling out full price for the full-length since it's short.

All in all, 70s Style Robot Anime Geppy-X is a very cheesy game. However, it’s also fun as hell. Every time the vocals on a boss theme kick in, my heart starts thumping. If you’re a fan of mecha or shooters, definitely check it out.

70s-style Robot Anime Geppy-X wasn’t just a shooter with anime cutscenes. It's an entire super robot series that was packed onto four PlayStation discs. A quarter-century on, the gameplay is mostly solid, but it’s the animation, voice-work, and hilarious extras that make this a recommendation for fans of classic mecha anime.
