While the pace never falters, the jokes still land, and the performances remain top-notch, after spending four seasons with these lovable delinquents, one can’t help but also wonder if these characters will ever evolve.

Slow Horses has not only turned in another thrilling season full of excitement and intrigue but an emotionally affecting one, too.

Much like the wine La Muga produced before Gala’s arrival, there are good elements here, someone just needs to know how to bring them together to create the perfect blend.

Slow Horses is an underdog story of the highest caliber. At this point, if you’re not on board, one has to wonder who the true f–kups are.

It turns out there was more to say about Raylan Givens, specifically about who he is as a father, so even if the crime element wasn’t the show at its best, there is still a purpose to City Primeval. And that’s more than can be said about some of the other revivals Hollywood has trotted out over the last decade.

In some ways it feels like the show’s writers heard the faint criticism of the first season, attempted to course correct, and ended up with a narrative that tries to be sneaky and comes up just short. And yet, it does little to take away from the show’s innate charms.

In the current TV climate, in which episodes can top out at more than an hour (or two, if you’re Stranger Things), it’s refreshing to see a TV show that knows how to keep things moving. It’s just a shame that it does so at the expense of a truly compelling story and well-developed characters

Borgen: Power & Glory is a satisfying drama, one that has a lot to say about power, about women and how we’re viewed by society, and about what happens after we reach a certain age. It stands out in a crowded landscape for the way it places women in positions of power and asks them to engage with and react to a patriarchal society that rarely offers them the support they need or the respect they deserve.

The result is an engaging and sometimes thrilling two-hander.

The result is a sometimes funny, but always delightful realistic exploration of a time long, long before humans walked the Earth.
