Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Dry Twice5
Nov 10, 2020
Used to love all the old lsl games, along with SQ, PQ, Monkey Island...basically anything SCUMM. The nostalgia of those games kept me interested and invested in playing this game for about 30 mins. As much as I'd liked to have enjoyed this game it just didn't have the spark, the character or humor that made these original titles so much fun. Half way through some new character's drawn out introductory monologue I realized I was not only bored but I just didn't care about larry anymore.... :( This isn't a bad point and click adventure by any means, it just feels a little hand-holdy, slow and devoid of whatever that special spark is.

I lasted about 15 minutes with this game. Clunky controls, gameplay that encourages you to puzzle solve but doesn't work **** so slow.

A confusing mix of genres that feels more of a chore than a game. Switching from a side scrolling space shooter to a running platformer to an open world 3rd person rpg is novel for the first few hours. It soon becomes more irritating than fun though and that is where my biggest problem with this game is... I've now played for +20 hours, on my second playthrough, and can't think of a single part of the game where i was enjoying myself. space shooter + uninspired fetch questing in a ps3 level rpg was just boring. Combat generally works well and has a depth to it if you are willing to work at it, but 90% of enemies can be killed just by holding the shoot button and running around so there is little incentive to. Music is nice though... which i guess is a thing
