Call of Duty: WWII0
Jun 15, 2020
I checked this out because it was free on PS Plus. It is a wooden, unplayable disaster that defiles the memories of the people that inspired its story.

Gal*Gun 28
Jan 26, 2020
Gal Gun 2 is a fun rail shooter with charming characters and excellent fanservice. Gameplay is slightly lacking in difficulty, but you can choose a more challenging experience by completing optional missions and striving to complete all the endings. Don't miss out on the Meowvelous Sweater costume DLC!

DOOM VFR8
Jan 26, 2020
Doom VFR remains overpriced at $40, two years after its release, for a title that relies so heavily on reusing assets from Doom 2016. Still, it brings an unprecedented level of immersion to the Doom series, and its gameplay focus on teleportation and telefrag kills keeps things fresh even as you retrace your steps through maps you've already played before, facing monsters you've killed repeatedly in the past.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition8
Jan 26, 2020
Despite being riddled with dozens of the very same game-breaking bugs that Bethesda has declined to address since the original, original release of Skyrim in 2011, this Switch port is nevertheless an RPG experience that will effortlessly command hundreds of hours of your attention. The Creation Engine's age works in its favor here, as the Switch hardware runs it at full resolution and frame rate with no problem at all. If you have never played Skyrim before and you own a Switch, this is surely the best release you can choose.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe9
Jan 26, 2020
The best entry in the series since Mario Kart Wii. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe brings some minor tweaks to gameplay that make an outsized improvement over the original Wii U version, restoring some of the tactical range of expression that was lost with 8's item system. Performance is flawless, and the racing experience is enjoyable whether in single player, multiplayer, or online modes. The only real stain on this title is the environmental complexity it inherited from Mario Kart 7 and 8, with hang gliding and underwater and anti-gravity driving seeming an overbearing attempt to bludgeon the player with novelty in a title that doesn't need it. The game's incredible variety of 48 maps and near-endless character and vehicle customization offer plenty of range without the need for frenetic and constant changes to the racing environment.

DOOM9
Jan 26, 2020
Panic Button's heroic feat of engineering brings the crushing workload of Doom 2016 to life on a platform that should never have been able to run it at all. While a comfortably-equipped PC remains the best way to experience this title, there's nothing missing. Every map and model is complete, rendered here in a convincing level of detail that fully captures the look and feel of Mars and Hell, even if it's at a slower frame rate and a lower resolution.

Xenoblade Chronicles 210
Jan 26, 2020
By far the best RPG on Switch and likely the best game on the platform in general. Monolith tells a riveting story with masterful virtuosity, through a cast of memorable characters. The game takes place in a world of breathtaking locations and is set to the best video game soundtrack I have ever heard. The combat system is complex, but introduced slowly and with ample player training. The game will reward some grinding, but never requires it, with side quests integrated seamlessly while at the same time firmly remaining completely optional. A must-play for any RPG fan with a Switch.

Super Neptunia RPG9
Jan 26, 2020
Super Neptunia RPG brings a fun, new two-dimensional perspective to the beloved characters and locations of Gamindustri. The character customization system, in which your party learn skills and abilities from items collected throughout the story, offers a variety of options in play style for engaging the monsters that appear throughout the world. Although much of the supporting cast from the previous games is absent, the main characters are fully realized in a story that brings their personalities to life in a fresh way. As someone who generally despises platform jumping, I had some trouble with the occasional platforming segments in the game but did not find them frustrating as they rarely presented a setback of more than a minute when I let Neptune fall into the void. The only real negatives here, in my opinion, are the general sluggishness of the engine running on Switch and a handful of crashes I observed after long program run times.

Megadimension Neptunia VIIR10
Jan 26, 2020
The best and most ambitious Neptunia story yet and the best way to experience it. Megadimension Neptunia VIIR builds on the acclaimed story of Megadimension Neptunia VII, adding virtual reality visits from the main characters that bring their personalities to life in the Virtual Dimension. With three phases to the main quest (and four routes through the second), Compile Heart and Idea Factory do not rest on their laurels here but deliver a novel dimension-hopping adventure with our favorite characters from Gamindustri. PS VR hardware is optional, and you can experience all the Virtual Dimension visits and customize the Player Room without it, but if you're a Nep fan on the fence about PS VR, Megadimension Neptunia VIIR is as good a reason as any to pick one up.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3: V Generation10
Jan 26, 2020
As the final entry in the Re;birth series on Vita, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;birth 3 is a must-play for those who completed the first two remake titles. The main characters of the first game return here alongside their CPU candidate sisters in a charming and funny story. Stella's Dungeon and the Remake system offer you ways to customize your characters and experience completed dungeons in new ways. Nepgear's exasperation at constantly mastering useless abilities is sure to put a smile on your face.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth2: Sisters Generation10
Jan 26, 2020
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;birth 2 is where the Vita remake series really hits its stride. Re;birth 2 introduces the CPU candidate characters for the first time in the remakes and offers novelty in the combat system for those who completed Re;birth 1 and want to enjoy something new. Don't miss the chance to collect idea chips in Stella's Dungeon while you take your party through the main quest!

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth110
Jan 26, 2020
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;birth 1 is the best place to start in the Neptunia series. This title retells the story of the original Hyperdimension Neptunia, but with a refined engine and combat system in a handheld format. Re;birth 1 offers an enjoyable game experience both to completionists and to those who just want to play through the story, and offers ample player training to explain the complexities of its battle and character customization options.

Hyperdimension Neptunia7
Jan 26, 2020
While the combat system is pretty rough, Hyperdimension Neptunia is where the series got its signature blend of turn-based JRPG gameplay and visual novel-style storytelling. If you're a fan of the later games, you owe it to yourself to see where it all began. The characters and humor that made the Neptunia series a fan favorite are here in full bloom.
