Just finished the game on PS5 and really loved it! Graphics, atmosphere, music, bosses and grabbing mechanics were incredible. I’m mind blown that this game was developed by only 3 people. Please give this game a chance and support this small but competent team of developers!

Really, really awesome adventure game. Amazing graphics, atmosphere, environments, level design, music, sound effects and most importantly puzzles. Also, there are Graphic Options - one for High FPS and one for High Quality, which was really cool and worked like a charm even on a regular PS4 :) For trophy hunters - there is a Platinum trophy which requires you to 100% through the game and complete the DLCs with no missable trophies. The only thing to keep note of is that the Save System is sometimes finicky. I had a power outage in my neighbourhood and I was half-way through Chapter 2 and when I rebooted my PS4 my save file was before I started Chapter 2. Also worth noting is that there is VR support, although I have yet to try it and I cannot comment on it at the moment. In general, I sincerely recommend this game for any adventure and puzzle game fan. Anybody who loved Myst and similar puzzle adventure games will absolutely love this one. This is the chillest game I have played in a looooong time ! :)

Combat is a bit messy (but wasn't that also the charm of the original games?) and there is some occasionally lackluster voice-acting, but the general atmosphere, puzzles, music, characters, cutscenes are great! It carries the original vibe from the original PSX Fear Effect games and that's what's most important for me. Don't let the bad critic reviews keep you from buying the game, especially if you're a fan of the old games. In an age where we are spoiled by AAA games with budgets bigger than some Hollywood movies, keep in mind that the budget of this game is waaaay less than the budget for the original PSX games and they still managed to create a cool sequel representative of the qualities of the PSX Fear Effect games. Support the developer, so that we can see more great games in the Fear Effect universe!
