How I rate games: Game-play, Music/Sound, Graphics & Visuals, Story/World-building, and Characters each get 0-2 points adding up to a score /10. 0 is non-existent or bad, 1 is average or N/A, and 2 is better than average. Game-play: 1 The only changes from the original are exploit fixes and changes to make a game that wasn't really that had easier such as copying the simultaneous attacks from the Golden (now called 'showtimes'), adding more SP items to the palaces, and passing out bullets like candy. Newcomers may enjoy but returning players that don't enjoy playing an easier version **** they have already played will not enjoy Royal. Music/Sound: 1 The music is the same as the original, missing a great opportunity to add Lotus Juice back into persona. And honestly? I liked the old battle theme better. Graphics & Visuals: 1 The same as the original but with minor tweaks like busts that can turn their heads and putting the busts in little boxes during phonecalls. I expected much more for the price. Story/World-building: 0 Royal fails to fix the issues with the original story and adds new sections and events that are a grand waste of time and don't build on the story or characters in any meaningful way. I'm completely serious, Royal makes the story of P5 worse instead of better. Characters: 0 The new characters, I'm sorry, royally ****. While Maruki is decent with a story that works but is pretty messy, the other two are straight-up fails. Jose is nothing but a cute face only there to add an unnecessary mechanic and Kasumi is pointless and could be used as a guide on how not to handle complex characters by having dozens of ideas attached to a single character but not fleshing any of them out and backtracking on her development by the end. While we will argue forever as to who P5's best girl is, at least we can now narrow down who worst girl is: Kasumi and/or her sister. TOTAL: 3/10

How I rate games: Game-play, Music/Sound, Graphics & Visuals, Story/World-building, and Characters each get 0-2 points adding up to a score /10. 0 is non-existent or bad, 1 is average or N/A, and 2 is better than average. Game-play: 2 Not only is it an improvement over P5 by leaps and bounds, this game-play is so solid I expect copy-cats for years to come. Music/Sound: 2 The music is solid with a large library and strong voice acting (in both English and Japanese!) Graphics & Visuals: 2 The graphics are brought into the modern age from P4's outdated models into more contemporary ones. The menus are flashy and fun and there are great, original battle effects. Story/World-building: 1 Good, but not as good as some claim. The writing quality wains and the story continues, being very strong for the first few dungeons while becoming nearly nonsense by the last few with plot-points dropped and plot-holes abundant. Characters: 2 This is one of the games strong-points. Each character has a storyline about being oppressed by the world around them or the expectations society places on them making for rich, developed characters that are interesting. While some of the confidant routes are unfocused, the characters themselves are some of the best in the series. TOTAL: 9/10

How I rate games: Game-play, Music/Sound, Graphics & Visuals, Story/World-building, and Characters each get 0-2 points adding up to a score /10. 0 is non-existent or bad, 1 is average or N/A, and 2 is better than average. Game-play: 1 Not unplayable, but needlessly complicated for a spin-off, just like the first PQ Music/Sound: 1 The music is great with many good new tracks and well as old ones brought back from the original P4, P3, and P5 games but lacks english audio due to budget cuts. Graphics & Visuals: 1 The chibi style is a nice change and gives PQ its own identity from the main games and other spin-offs, but is not much of an improvement from the last PQ game Story/World-building: 0 Weird, fanfictiony, and much less unique than the first one. The game struggles with having such a large cast and the plot about multiple realities to explain the presence of the female P3 protagonist felt like an excuse and is poorly handled. They bit off more than they could chew this time. Characters: 0 Most of the characters become jokes and have their personalities neutered for the sake of gags while the new characters are not even slightly memorable. TOTAL: 3/10

How I rate games: Game-play, Music/Sound, Graphics & Visuals, Story/World-building, and Characters each get 0-2 points adding up to a score /10. 0 is non-existent or bad, 1 is average or N/A, and 2 is better than average. Game-play: 1 It is every other rhythm game you have ever played. Music/Sound: 1 The music is the music from P5 with some additions, however many songs are locked behind a paywall. Graphics & Visuals: 1 The graphics are flashy with HD models of the characters. It is much less impressive than the P3 and P4 rhythm games as P5 was already mostly HD and so the improvements is less impressive. Story/World-building: 0 There isn't any and really no reason for there to not be any considering P4DAN had some. Characters: 0 It is just the P5 cast with but with some fan favorites locked behind a paywall. There are some small character interactions, but some of the dances like the all girls dance that are totally OOC. TOTAL: 3/10

Game-play: 0 For a fighting game, the game play is very broken with some character being gods or having spam-able abilities while others are near-useless. Music/Sound: 1 The music has some new tracks that aren't terrible memorable and some tracks from P4. None of the sound effects are too annoying or amazing. Graphics & Visuals: 2 The graphics are a fun mix of drawn images for backgrounds and pixel art that keeps the artstyle from becoming dated with time. Story/World-building: 2 Oddly enough, this is the strongest part of the game. The use of adding details from P3 and interrogating them with P4's setting works wonders expanding the world and creating a story that is appropriate for the series. Characters: 2 It is mostly existing characters, but the new ones are stronger than you'd expect for a spin-off. TOTAL: 7/10

Game-play: 1 It is every other rhythm game you have ever played. Music/Sound: 2 The music is the music from P4 with some additions, so of course this part would be the strongest. Graphics & Visuals: 2 The graphics are flashy with HD models of the characters. Story/World-building: 1 Not amazing, but passable. This game does, however, rely on a lot of knowledge of Japanese idol culture which will not be understood well by many English speaking players. Characters: 1 While not super well developed, the new girls are fun and they do try to make sure their is variety to them. TOTAL: 7/10

How I rate games: Game-play, Music/Sound, Graphics & Visuals, Story/World-building, and Characters each get 0-2 points adding up to a score /10. 0 is non-existent or bad, 1 is average or N/A, and 2 is better than average. Game-play: 1 The gameplay is basically the same as P3, showing little improvement for the series. Music/Sound: 2 There is a huge library of music and most of it is very nice and the voice acting is definitely an improvement over the P3 games. Graphics & Visuals: 0 While they aren't bad, the graphics were not improved over P3 at all which is a big problem as the graphics for the P3 games were not great. This game looks like it much, much older than it is. Story/World-building: 2 The small town limits what you can do but plays perfectly into the characters and the story. The story, while a touch bloated with high-school slice-of-life crap, works well as a simple murder mystery. Characters: 1 This cast you will either find boring and unlikeable or you will be **** in like you are one of the gang. I found them unlikeable as they told eachother to accept their true selves while doing things like bullying their friend for questioning his sexuality. Many of the characters behaviors have aged terribly to the point where if this game gets remade post 2020 there will need to be some serious edits just to not cause a boycott. TOTAL: 6/10

How I rate games: Game-play, Music/Sound, Graphics & Visuals, Story/World-building, and Characters each get 0-2 points adding up to a score /10. 0 is non-existent or bad, 1 is average or N/A, and 2 is better than average. Game-play: 2 While the game-play has aged, it is still absolutely playable and was leagues above the rest at the time of release. It was also a huge improvement over Persona 2 and 1. Music/Sound: 2 While the voice acting is shaky, there is a huge library of music and most of it is very nice. Graphics & Visuals: 1 This version is a point and click most of the time with lowered quality graphics so that it could be on a portable system. So while many graphics are poor it was for a perfectly respectable reason and they could have been much worse. Story/World-building: 2 Of all the persona games, this one has the most fleshed out and consistent story. Characters: 2 This is the cast is the one that finds the balance between interesting and realistic, which is something the other persona games have each struggled with. While some of them are 'love 'em or hate 'em', they do have good motivations for what they do. TOTAL: 9/10
