Overall, I found this game to be highly enjoyable. It had some major problems, mainly due to some boring fetch quest, some hit or miss writing and a some technical problems. What makes it fun is the characters are all enjoyable, the world is a joy to explore and combat is really fun. There is a lot of interesting content as well, plenty of it I was happy to do and the multiplayer is really fun as well. I personally loved the game and now with some patches and a price drop I would say it is definitely worth it.

Overall a very solid game. Great fighting mechanics, lots of content and unlockables. The story mode is short, only 3 hours or so, but it is very fun with lots of twists and turns as well as many different characters to play as. The solo options are also impressive, with not only regular tower mode, but other different types of towers, "living towers" which change regularly and a few different modes. The online is fun as well, with plenty of private and public options. I especially like the faction system, where you join a group to level it up and can participate in timed events. You earn Xp for the faction in single player as well, and there are also faction fatalities to unlock. The krypt is where one will unlock all of there content, and there are loads of stuff to explore. It will take one quite a while to unlock everything, leaving a nice carrot on a stick for the player. Overall, this is a great game. While the story is a bit short and there could be a few more characters (there are three in the story that I think should have been in, including rain), it is very fun and definitely worth the money.

This is one of the best games on the ps4 so far. To start, the graphics are amazing, with great attention to detail. The characters are very well animated and look very alive. The gameplay is the high point. There is a lot of variety in the game, and adding in human enemies all of the battles feel unique. Your arsenal is a bit small, but it has enough tools to keep the action fresh. The set pieces in the campaign are also great. What sets this game apart from some others is the story and side quest. The story is amazing, with a great evolution for the main character, Aloy, and great supporting characters. The story itself is filled with too much exposition, but what is there is all fascinating to find. The side quest are also filled with great stories, some of them very emotional. Overall, this is a fantastic game. It could use more weapons, better pacing for its story telling and some other changes, but you owe it to yourself to play this game if you have a ps4.

This is my first time playing Final Fantasy X and I think the game was incredible. The gameplay is some of the most fun i have had in any Jrpg yet. With the ability to switch to different party members each turn, as well as having a large variety of enemy types and bosses, the battles never really get old. They also remain quite challenging throughout. A bit of grinding will probably be needed to beat the final boss, but the gameplay is fun. The story is also amazing as well. While the voice acting could use improvement, the story has lots of twist and turns as well as being compelling and having enough mysteries to keep one guessing. The characters are great as well, with Yuna and Arron being some of my favorite ones in the series. Music is fantastic as well. Just a great game. As a bonus, the game has a lot of endgame content to keep you busy. I didn't do nearly enough of it as it requires a lot of grind to get there, but I may return. Even if you don't decide to do that, it is worth playing and the game will keep you busy for a while. Take into account I haven't even played X-2 yet, this is worth it just for X alone.

Halo Wars 2

Going into this game, one needs to know that it is not the most complicated RTS game ever. It's relatively simple, and it isn't any Starcraft. Despite that, Halo Wars 2 manages to be a blast in almost every way. First off, the gameplay, while simple, has some depth to it. The core gameplay is a rock-paper-scissors with some curveballs thrown in. How you get your units, how you command them, what types of units you use, what upgrades you get and how you use your special abilities will help keep the game fresh for a while. Adding onto that, there are a few different types of game modes that make it even more fun to play. There is a card based game mode called Blitz which is ok, though it's a bit pay to win. The story mode isn't too inventive on the gameplay side, but the story itself is a treat for any Halo fan. The voice acting and cut scenes are also amazing. The graphics are also amazing, and the game runs very smoothly. Overall, this is a solid RTS and an amazing game for Halo fans. I also want to give this game credit for having a great season pass, something most games don't. The base game already comes with 6 heroes (another one free), a story mode, blitz and 8 maps plus a few other modes, and the season pass has already delivered two heroes and more to come. It's an exciting game to keep up with long term to be sure.

This is a very fun if flawed game. The main flaw is the story. I felt like it was a wasted opportunity. There was no character development and all of the interesting characters were never on screen. I never felt a sense of progression and there is a pointless subplot of who will take over after the end game that never goes anywhere. The gameplay is the real star though. I really liked the survival and gunplay aspect, taking out camps and doing the side missions was fun. The skill system adds a nice progression to the game. I will say the side quest get repetitive but they are overall still fun. The open world is also a joy as well. Very well designed and it was fun to navigate. Graphics and sound was great too. Besides the story, repetitive side missions and a few glitches its a good game, though it isn't a must play.

I will say that I'm a huge Pokemon fanboy who has liked all of the main games. Despite that, I will say the Sun is one of the best. The gameplay is improved a lot. The addition of Z moves are great and add a tactical layer to the gameplay. Plenty of new Pokemon shake up the experience, with some new type combinations, new moves and abilities. The game is also the most difficult mainline game. The opponent's movesets are challenging, some of them use Z-moves and they are at decent levels as well. The design is also improved. Gamefreak removed HM's, which makes the experience a lot more smooth and less tedious. The islands are all fun to explore and have plenty of nooks and pockets to explore. The graphics are also beautiful, marking an improvement over X and Y. The framerate does drop during double battles which is unfortunate though. The story is also a bit underdeveloped. There are some interesting characters and a more personal arc this time, but I feel that we could have explored it further. Other than that, the music is good but not the best in the series.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was more enjoyable then I ever thought it could be. To start, the campaign is a blast. It tells a complete story that leaves open for more possibilities but wraps up nicely. There are nice character moments and the set pieces are awesome too. Along with that, many side missions are abundant and are a joy to play as well. The campaign also has sections in space and when you're doing ship fights and those are a blast as well. I would say this is definitely an awesome story that is worth playing through. The Multiplayer is fun as well. It's similar to Black Ops 3 but has a few things that put it above. First, the maps are very well designed. There aren't any dead spaces in the maps and I generally look forward to playing all of them. Secondly, the payloads (which are your character which has special abilities) are just as fun if not more so to use than Black Ops 3. If I had to levy a complaint at the Multiplayer, it is that they have micro transactions while also selling a season pass. If they released the maps for free but had micro transactions I would be ok with it, but the face that they're charging for both is a bit scummy. Zombies is also very fun. Called Zombies in Spaceland, it is a very detailed playground with plenty of fun things to explore. Unlike Black Ops 3, Infinite Warfare's zombies manages to create a complex map which also is fun to play if you just want to mow down zombies and not worry about other stuff. I do wish they had more then one map though, as one map does get old after a while. Overall it is a very enjoyable game. It isn't perfect, but I would say it is definitely worth the purchase and uses its si-fi themes well.

Ratchet & Clank (PS4)

Ratchet and Clank is one of the most addicting games I have played in a long time. To start, the gameplay is fantastic. The controls are solid, the movement feels great, and the star of the games are the weapons. There are so many different kinds that the game never feels boring, plus there is an extensive upgrade system that allows you to constantly be improving your favorite weapons. There are also lots of variety in the enemies and level design, as nothing is truly the same. There are puzzle sections with Clank that are brief but fun along with some secrets hidden around in the world that are a joy to find. The only bad thing about the gameplay is the hacking mini game, which is really boring but thankfully it isn't often. The game is also beautiful looking as well. There isn't much about the game that looks bad, it really is an amazing looking game. 60FPS would have been nice, but I never really noticed it being in 30fps. The only real downside is some of the story. It's simple which is fine, and some of the humor and characters work, but when the humor misses the mark it REALLY misses the mark. Some of it is the worst I have heard, partly because of the jokes but also because of the delivery. Despite that, Ratchet, Clank and the Captain are all cool characters that I can't wait to see more of. There is also a New Game + mode which allows you to further upgrade your weapons, upgrade Ratchet's health and allows you face some new enemies at a higher challenge. This is really a must have for any PS4 owner out there. It is a relatively cheap game and there isn't any DLC or Microtransactions. You would be hard pressed to not at least partially enjoy this game.

This is a game where it has many many flaws. I would say that it is, at times, a total mess ****. But I give it the score I did because I still love it. I love the characters, the plot, the combat and the open world. The storytelling could have been better and the side quest are mostly uninteresting, but I still really enjoyed it. If you're unsure about the game, maybe wait for a price drop and another patch to add a bit more content and fix some small glitches (the only one I encountered didn't allow me to finish a late game optional dungeon, which was really annoying.) Overall, I would recommend the game, however some may be wise to wait another few months to see what new patches (both free and paid) add.

Doom is a great game and a successful revival of the classic FPS franchise. The game stars most in its gameplay. The shooting feels great, and there are plenty of guns and different strategies that one can (and will need to) try. You move very fast and jump high which gives you incredible mobility, and because of that it is fun. The game also runs at a smooth 60fps which makes the experience very enjoyable. Besides shooting, the game also has some platforming and exploring. The levels are very well put together, so jumping around and exploring every corner not only adds playtime, but it is fun as well. I didn't find even half of the secrets (maybe like 30% secrets, 10% collectibles), but it still was satisfying whenever I found one. The music also compliments the game well. It is metal and gives more agency to the fights. The game does have some flaws though. First off, there were some glitches, specifically when enemies don't spawn. This forced me to reload my game twice. Secondly, the game struggles in long play sessions. It gets a bit too repetitive, especially in the second half when there are less new enemies, locations and guns. And finally, the multiplayer is fun but nothing special. Despite the flaws, Doom is must play for any FPS fan. Do yourself a favor and pick it up.

Quantum Break

To put it simply, Quantum break is a great game with some glaring flaws. To start, the story is fantastic. The time travel plot manages to make sense and avoid major plot holes while the characters are very well written. Martin Hach was in particular my favorite character, but all of them were great. Even the TV show aspect was done very well, giving some characters more depth and made me more interested in the plot and world. Oh and the voice acting is fantastic, and there is lots of extra lore you can find out in the game world. The gameplay has some highs and lows. To start, the time powers are very fun to use. They give you them gradually throughout the game, and you can upgrade them with points you find in the game world. While that is fun, my main problem is the lack of enemy variety and weapons. There aren't even 10 guns, and all of them are standard. I would have liked more. The game could have also used another mode outside the story and possibly a new game plus with more upgrades, as once you beat the story that is really it. Lastly, the graphics are fantastic and the sound design is good, though nothing amazing. Overall a great game, though there are some flaws that Remedy could have fixed. I would recommend it though, especially with the price being lower now.

Gears of War 4

Gears of War 4 is a solid game. The campaign itself is a fun romp, with varied level design and set pieces throughout it. The Swarm aren't as good as the locus, but they still have some cool monsters, and the way the Collalition introduces them are all pretty cool. The writing is a step up for the series as well, with more personality given to the new leads (and some good lines to the old), and the ending was a great "WTF" moment as a fan of the series. The Horde mode is back and better then ever. Similar to Gears 3's horde mode except a lot more flexible, and it is very fun. I like the new class system and how you can choose different upgrades for them, so if two people are a soldier one can be focused on assault rifle damage while another can focus on other guns and health. The only thing is I wish there were a few more types of bosses, like maybe a few can be put in for dlc. The competitive multiplayer is back and fun. I do have a few problems with it though. One, I feel like there could be a few more maps. Some of these maps are simply amazing, maps that I will be playing a lot, but others, while still good, make me want more. Not only that, but I wish there were more social playlist then one that just combines all of them. My other big complaint is the store system needs some work. The player earns credits too slowly and the loot (which gives you horde upgrades, versus bounties and cosmetics) is too expensive, plus you can get repeats. If everything were cheaper and you earned a few by your self (like lets say every 20 levels are so) I would be fine, but as it stands it could be better. Overall, fantastic game that could have some work with its matchmaking, enemy variety (specifically bosses) and its currency system. I would recommend to any fan of the series or anybody looking for a good shooter, there is definitely $60 worth of content here. If you're not a fan of the series, I would stay away because this won't change your mind.

Just cause 3 was a great time. Make no mistake, this game isn't deep or artistic. It simply exist so you can blow **** up, and that is all it needs to do. The story isn't too exciting and is very poorly paced. Some of the characters are fun though, and I like how it lets you explore the open world even if the next story mission is urgent. The explosions were very fun, but the gunplay was a bit weak. They don't let you lock onto targets until you unlock the upgrade which was silly, but everything else worked great, included the vehicles which I had no problems with. The design of the bases were always unique and some of them quite large, making it a challenge but one that is always fun because the challenge is to blow stuff up without dying. The graphics are pretty solid. For being such a large open world game, the draw distance isn't bad and the environments look good if not fantastic. Make no mistake, if you want perfect graphics you will need to play the PC version, and have a powerful PC at that. The framerate buckled sometimes, but only twice did it ever crash and only two other times did it get very low. While still not acceptable, it didn't affect my enjoyment of the game too much. Overall, Just Cause 3 is a really solid game. Playing through the story and liberating the outpost will net you a few dozen hours, and if you found all of the collectibles like I did (which grant you new weapons and vehicles), it adds on another few hours. I would give this higher if it was more technically sound, but I still recommend it, especially because it should be low in price by now.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition

Sep 21, 2016
In honor of Gears 4 releasing soon, I will give a few thoughts on Gears one. First off, let me say this has my favorite campaign in the series. The atmosphere and level design is fantastic, and that stays true in the Ultimate edition. The extra content is also great, and I appreciate the extra achievements lol. The multiplayer is fun, though it is disappointing that they didn't add any cool gamemodes and just left it as it is, which I guess is what some people were looking for. The graphics look great, and aside from very minor glitches that I found the game was well polished, and the audio was great as always. They made some minor gameplay changes that appeared in later games, but just enough so it didn't feel like a completely different game. My only disappointment is a lack of game modes and extras. I think if they added score attack from Gears 3, some of the cool multiplayer game modes from later games then I would probably raise it to a 9. Otherwise, it is still great, especially since it was only $40. It is cheaper now, so even with Gears 4 coming out I would recommend it for any fans or people just wanting a fun third person shooter.

This game wasn't horrible, just painfully average. The only thing that makes this game not get a five or below is the beautiful graphics which still look fantastic and compare to games today, the great animations and a fun multiplayer mode that can give a few hours worth of entertainment. I also got the complete edition for about $10, so if I had paid more for this I would have probably lowered the score, but considering how cheep it is now it isn't a bad game if you're looking for something mindless to play for a few hours, especially if you're tight on money and have a friend with you.

Uncharted 4 was a great game with excelent writing, only let down by a lack of exciting gameplay (not set pieces, but straight up shootouts). If there were a few more action scenes and a few more guns and toys, the campaign would be near perfect. The writing is fantastic, and I have never felt as connected to these characters as I did while playing Uncharted 4. The set pieces, while non as good as the building falling in Unhcarted 2 or the plane in Uncharted 3, all are entertaining and some of them reach the best in the series. The new stealth gameplay is also good, and the grappling hook makes the platforming even more fun. The graphics and sound are both some of the best in the industry, and I would say that this is the best looking PS4 game. The game also as lots of collectibles which are fun to find, fun campaign modifiers such as weapons and skins and graphic filters which give it lots of replay-ability. Lastly, the game comes with a fun and balanced multiplayer. It isn't as deep as some others such as Cod, Halo or Gears, but they have added 2 free maps and new skins and weapons since launch. If they added a new game mode along with another map I would be satisfied with the content. As it stands, I play it every once and a while but I wouldn't say I put any more than 6 hours into it.

Overall I found Halo 5 to be a fantastic game. The campaign had some fun set pieces, some amazing environments and combat sections, though it wasn't as good as the previous games. The multiplayer is where it truly shines though. The gameplay is swift and quick, never letting up and has a high skill ceiling. I never have felt board during the multiplayer, and both Arena and Warzone were fantastic. What makes the game even better is the support it has received. Halo 5 has gotten so many free maps and modes, from older features such as score attack to newer maps and an upgraded forge mode, along with new and old weapons (something not seen in a Halo dlc). If I was able to do decimal points, I would raise it from a 9 to around a 9.2 just for this amazing support. Overall, I really liked the game, and I think it is definitely worth a play, especially for fans of competitive multiplayer.
