I didn't last very long into the first episode. Probably nice people at heart, but the reality that not even my hero Clint could keep his daughters from falling for society's mental traps and build strong social contributors is pretty disappointing. Hopefully these lady's will snap out of it and decide to do something to help the world instead of just looking pretty in it.

I'm not a big fan of nepotism, but I'm fair and will give credit where credit is due. That said, there is very little credit due here. Just rich kids trying to feel something real, giving up and just faking it. A lot of critics will give a project credit because of its pedigree. It's called the Halo Effect, when something's value is raised just because of the hands that touched it. That's happening here and people will continue to defend it for a while but as the viewers flee so will all support. It's technically polished but still just a fart in the wind.

Based on my admiration for Melissa McCarthy I decided to check out the first season, and no. Couldn't make it through a single episode. there may be better ones than the one I started but just no. There's no way I'm using my time for that. In my estimation it's just background noise for people who never turn the television off (typical of the genre). Enjoyed McCarthy in Bridesmaids and the most recent SNL. Hopefully they'll revamp the show to feature her doing something that allows her to work closer to level ten than at the muted level two she's coasting at. 3/10

The age range range for this show skews a little too low for me. At least I hope it does. I would hate to think that they dumbed it down for a wider audience, because that would be ridiculous. There is no wider audience for sci fi. Dumb people won't watch it even if it has guns and explosions. The Dawson's Creek people also aren't going to watch it no matter how cute the teenagers are. That's why I hope they're just trying to reach smart eight year olds, But of course, In the process of doing that they have to lose this smart 35 year old. Too bad, it could have been fun for us grownups. I don't even think the action figures will be that cool.

Maybe it's my mood but it's hard to like characters who are full fledged adults, well past their twenties who lie that fast, that often and for high school reasons. It's okay for secondary or tertiary characters to do that, but not the main characters. I know L.A. people can be that way so It probably feels real to the creatives, but it's not cute or endearing. Nobody is supposed to still be that awkward at that age. They really really like their neighbors because of their looks, and then they immediately call the cops on the party they were invited to? What are we supposed to be rooting for them to win at? The Shallow-lympics? I think they're supposed to be confused about parenting, not about everything in life. I give it 4/10 for the talent assembled, but I think it's already too late to turn things around. (Full disclosure; I don't find anything interesting about babies. Even if I had my own, I wouldn't want to hear about anybody else's. But that's me.)

As a single het guy who lived with two single het women, platonically, as roommates for three years, I have to say the female character on this show probably has a better deal than I had. It's a great learning experience, and if the show can resist making two of the primary characters hook up, then there are a good many situational opportunities for comedy. I repeat, the secret to this show staying fresh is to not have her fall in love with any of her roommates. As soon as the writers break that rule, the show will get predictable. Also, don't dumb down the male characters, smart men are funny. A tentative 6/10 because I'm hoping the arc is on an upward trajectory.

I admit the brunette is very much like a younger version of my old roommate, so that felt real enough. But thank god I'm not an actor otherwise I'd have to constantly be an ethnic stereotype in order to live (and that's a little sad to me). The handful of sitcoms I normally watch aren't the standard/archaic format (Wilfred, Curb your Enthusiasm, Always Sunny), so I was instantly annoyed by the pace and the laugh track. I want to like it, but that's just not enough to call it good. Ultimately, it's not something I'll keep watching when there's so many other things to see an not much time to do it in. I've already lowered my standards on a couple other mid-range shows so this one's not going to make the cut. 5/10 because the writing had some snap and the brunette is fun to watch.

One of my favorite shows of all time which featured some of the best episodes ever broadcast. My favorites were the philosophical arguments played out as sci-fi melodrama. Favorite season were 2-5 which was the sweet spot between when the show found it's legs and when it went soft. Favorite episode, "Inner Light." If the writing, editing and acting in that one don't impress you, you're not a true geek. Lot's off hot actresses got their big break in episode one offs, including Teri Hatcher and Famke Jansen. Great catalog for your collection.

One of my favorites. Currently rewatching the catalog. Just came here to say check out S02E01, it's totally where they got the idea for the television show "Lost."

Three caveats, I'm a dude, I almost never watch reality programming, and I don't have kids. So why the heck would I spend 47 minutes of my life watching this? Originally it was morbid curiosity. I wanted to see the train wrecks. The Toddlers and Tiaras show sounded too far outside my comfort zone, but I thought since these girls ostensibly learned an actual craft, it would be a stomach-able compromise. I also think athletics and team sports are valuable experiences for young people, so I climbed down off my high horse and tuned in. Hey, kids are kids, that never changes, and this show is not about the kids. It's about American culture, women's gender roles and how damaging stereotypes are handed down from mother to daughter in the form of destructive personality disorders. The mother's are the stars. I try to critique media within the confines of it's genre and or sub-genre. I look at what's successful in that medium and try to make comparisons regarding professional competency as well as what might move the medium forward (the purpose of art, no?). You can't do any of that with this. It's pure sugar and salt, utterly nutritionless. A young girl couldn't even watch this for the value of the competitive routines because the performance in quick edits before going back to the reaction of the mom's. But that's pretty much what I expected, so what's my verdict? It's not a guilty pleasure. A rich dessert is a guilty pleasure, this is corn nuts, pop rocks, and mountain dew. The Dance teacher is competent, the kids are cute and driven, but none of that is appreciated. I would like to know more about the girls and their individual motivations and struggles. But the 'reality' is that wouldn't get ratings. It's disposable pap, the train wreck I tuned in to see and complain about. And if that's it's value to the medium, then I'll just get back up on my high horse and ride to a pasture with fewer gopher holes and cow patties. Rated 4 out of sympathy for the kids who might know how to use google.

On the bright side, It's exactly what the producers wanted. It's just like the twenty something kids I went to art school with (as a returning student). Unfortunately, twenty somethings aren't even interesting to each other, let alone anyone else.. seriously, mtv, hipsters just want desperately to fit in without without looking like it's the only thing they think about, and that's not enough meat to hang a show on. There's a reason that shows about life before being forced to join the ranks of the working class, and shows about desperately wanting out of it after getting your fill work better. Because everything that happens in the between time is largely forgettable. I wouldn't ask any of these people how their day went for fear they might actually tell me, so I definitely don't want to spend time watching it. I only tuned in because the title sounded fun. Tuning out now.

One of my favorites. Hooked from the start, though initially confused by the bizarre setup. Each episode has improved on the last, however I just can't see how something as inventive as this can survive for more than a few season. In fact I think this is one of those shows that not only deserves to go out on top but should plan for it. Three season and out is my wish for this project, followed by an honored place in my collection and great hope that the creative's go on to create something else as brilliant or better.

The writing is solid, the actors are likable. I've personally lost interest slick 'Wall street" style aspirational programming. I actually know people like this. In real life they are shallow, money obsessed, sociopathically materialistic, and so fundamentally unhappy that when they smile you have to start worrying about what they're going to do to make you as miserable as they need you to be in order to feel superior. People like this are culturally destructive and we really need to stop encouraging them. However, since I'm pretty much the minority in that view, I'll give it the five the writing deserves and move on to something that suits my interests.

Entertaining half hour. Pleasantly surprised by the writing. In fact I had intended to avoid watching because all anyone talked about was Matt Leblanc's involvement. Luckily Leblanc isn't the central character, but instead similar to Tracy Morgans role on 30 Rock, present but diffuse. Love the Wife's character. She's that reality anchored person who insists that people not lie **** Hollywood. Good luck there.

It's the Sopranos but instead of Italian Mafia it features the underworld characters related to professional boxing. Main character may even be a more likable anti-hero than Tony. If the writing continues to improve I see this turning into something durable.

I really wanted this show to work but it already feels like the wheels are falling off. It seemed as if the writers were playing the appropriate pacing game, keeping things slowed down, giving the characters plenty of face time to emote so viewers could empathize, but there just aren't enough details for a viewers to lose themselves in while we're waiting for things to heat up. This ones skewing towards the younger kids (10-15), and giving us grown up kids too much time to get distracted. It's snoozin' and quickly losin'.
