BioShock Infinite9

OH MY WORD THE STORY. I loved the cinematic feel of this game, very much in the same vein as the original bioshock. The twist was one that left me reeling for days. The presentation was similarly fantastic. The only real issue that I had is that for some reason I felt that the gameplay felt like it was somewhat forced. Like the story, and the gameplay felt a bit dissonant, like it was a movie with a shooter added in. However, regardless of this whining I cannot deny the story, setting, characters, style was just so amazing, definitely the best game I've played for quite some time.

Borderlands is a different kind of FPS known as a RPS (Role-Playing Shooter). I can definitely understand the merit of such a game and it had a very solid base in XP, leveling up and such. Personally I didn't enjoy this game, possibly due to the fact that I'm not really good at gaming, but I can totally understand the love of the gameplay style and the overall presentation-based flair.

Far Cry 39

This is the first game I have ever pre-ordered, so that in itself should give you an overview of the game. In fact, given the open world, animals, RPG elements and one mission in particular which involves blowing up stuff to "Make it Bun 'Dem" I would love to give this 10. However, the final act of the plot, which felt last-minute and pointless (though at points engaging and awesome), really deflated my opinion of the campaign. Do not let this stop you though, its an amazing open world, with lots of stuff to do, whether it be hunting, challenges, or simply pissing off pirates GTA style.

Need for Speed: The Run4

As a gamer, I have never truly been a racing fan, aside from the odd burnout game. The Run in some ways is a nice game as it can be forgiving when it needs to be, and can at time give the illusion of being good at driving. Whilst the campaign got me excited to see the mission through to the end, the novelty ended there. Repetitive missions (well it is a race game, but I would have preferred more of the 'stunt' scenes), with QT events and pseudo plot showing off the pointless characters did nothing and might as well have been avoided. It's a nice way to burn an hour or two, but nothing spectacular.

I am not by any means a FPS veteran. This was one of my first FPS games ever. But man was this awesome. First off, the graphics are phenonmenal, I'm not a person who usually gets to fussed about how many pixels can be shoved into my TV, but WOW. The story isn't particularly awe-inspiring. But the gameplay? Good God. The open world create inifinite possible ways of approaching a mission. Can't find the firepower to take the army head on? Stealth kill! Evade! Blow up their ammo! Not only this but the suits ability demand careful consideration of any and every action. This is FPS needs to be: chess with guns.

Trials Evolution10

This is a great game. Building on the original Trials HD, Trial evolution takes the game out of the warehouse and comes out with a fantastic little game. Courses are especially beautiful including themed courses (e.g. baseball, Limbo, UFOs), and include new features like explosions and the like that really add to the gameplay. The learning curve is also smooth to newcomers, but original Trials HD players will find some really hard levels to entertain, which they'll have to earn. Throw in a super cool editor (used to make all the tracks!) and an online community's worth of DLC tracks, and you have a sequel **** that is leaps and bounds ahead of its original game.
