Lords of the Fallen (2014)5
Oct 25, 2015
The game is simply broken. Even now, after 6 (?) patches, on a perfectly capable system (i5@4.50GHz + 970 OC) drops to 30 fps on lowest details in 1080p. Yes for the most time it stays smooth but the drops are always there around the corner and those drops will make your boss fights a mess, and you can imagine how a boss fight can be challenging and frustrating at times. The game is not as difficult as dark souls, it is similar in some ways but to sum it up it is the 'bad copy' of the Dark Souls games. I bought the game for 10 euros and I still regret it. If it were running smooth I may have wanted to go on and play the whole **** the framerate problems (luckily, no crashes) + extremely boring maps (it looks always the same....Dark Souls has a magic feeling whenever you enter a new location) and so - so fights make me want to just quit the game and not go back to it.

Depths of Fear: Knossos6
Dec 4, 2014
Ok...I did not know one man alone built the **** KUDOS !!! The concept is wonderful....randomly generated levels (they look alike sometimes but they are not the same so don't let that fool you), random drops of weapons and items, good fights, scary environments. If this was with cry engine 3 or similar, would be some fantastic game, kind of Dark Souls in first person perspective. Luckily, the concept and gameplay are good enough to overcome the graphical aspect. BUT There are too many bugs. Actually mainly one that recurs every 5 **** that is enemies teleporting here and there clipping through walls and stuff. The main beasts (the ones you have to kill) will get stuck in the wall and after getting stuck, they will fly in some place you can't reach (ON the walls, for instance) making it impossible to kill **** always a gamebreaker but be aware that the game doesn't feel polished enough, it is quite rough in animations and everything. But what can you ask from one man and 6 dollars ? :) recommended anyways. Posted: 5 July.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter9

Game is very short but delivers a whole lot of emotions. Graphically it is insane how they managed to offer this level of detail and immersion with the Unreal Engine 3. The story is amazing and narration is more than perfect. A little bit longer maybe, but I don't regret having bought it full price. 95/100

The Fall6
Aug 26, 2014
BEWARE IT IS MEANT TO BE AN EPISODE It is not written in the description, but this looks like an 'Episode 1' (there even is the achievement of finishing 'episode **** the game ends on TO BE CONTINUED. Although the ending can still be an ending (no cliffhanger trick, not too big at least), looks like the story is not really finished, but if this is an episode, they should have written. It is very short (less than 4 hours with everything explored). 10 euros is a lot, and the game is not that rich in content anyway. Controls are VERY bulky (mouse and keyboard, didn't try controller), graphics are not very characteristic, animations are sticky and design in general is not very descriptive. Atmosphere though is there. The Swapper is a similar game that was able to achieve more in terms of graphics, animations and design (and, for my taste, plot and atmosphere). The Fall looks a bit flat, boring, although it is still a good game, it just doesn't look polished enough. Voice acting was the best thing of the game. 60/100

Papers, Please8
Aug 24, 2014
Very nice. I didn't expect to like it this much. The correct word is 'addictive'. Once i started, i could not stop. Also, I thought it was only a practical game, but there is a plot behind, moments of fear, of surprise and many other details, everything happening at your desk. 20 possible endings, I have seen about the half of it in 10 hours gameplay (about 350 people checked). 85/100

Very nice. 7 Hours playthrough but secrets not found. Very philosophical. Portal puzzles meet space atmosphere. Reminds me of the movie 'moon'. Liked it very much, hard puzzles towards the end of the game. 80/100

10x times better than the first, both technically and...everything else. If you liked the first (or even if you didn't like it that much), you will like this. 88/100. 15 hours for a good explored playthrough.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons9
Aug 24, 2014
Very short (as expected) even if playing very slowly. It is a deep adventure full of feelings, it is a poem. I am not really familiar with the nordic culture, but it is a wonderful adventure worth to be played more than one time (achievements are also not easy to find, and no description will be given). Stunning scenery, wonderful graphics, and it looks amazing in 3D if you like 3D. 90/100

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag8
Aug 24, 2014
I got the 100% in about 80 hours. I literally did everything there was to do and I don't regret it. Little secrets and collectibles unlock special weapons or outfits or records or notes that unveil many details about the whole templars-assassins-abstergo thing. Also, this Black Flag is not a normal assassin's creed. The conspiracy part is only explored through secrets (mostly), the story is very different from the other ones but that was expected (just think of the end of AC3). There is not much to say. I think that if someone likes the AC series, would like every AC. I personally found a big improvement from AC1 to AC2, and the standard has always stayed the same. Black Flag is a different approach that will for sure develop in a next chapter. The setting (pirates, sailing, caribbean) is very appealing to me and something different that made me forgive the lack of main story, little related to what has happened until now with Desmond. But as I said, there are some secrets to be found that will explain many things here and there about the whole conspiracy and desmond's past. On the technical side, it is wonderful. The best ocean ever, together with the Cryengine 3. HBAO+ still looks very very good and animations are wonderful. Combats are still a - , it is basically impossible to die while fighting 20+ **** easy, but exploration and views will compensate that. 85/100

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger8
Aug 24, 2014
Nice! West, duels, no hud, no hints, challenging fights, chickens and cows. What else do you want? It is little more than a rail shooter, but a very nice and good at that. And the plot is also quite nice, narrator and voice actors in general good good good. 85/100, going to master all the challenges now.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier7
Aug 24, 2014
The game is OK. It is not really a deep and meaningful game but it is fun. It is similar to splinter cell conviction but here it has a reason to do this (while I hated splinter cell conviction to have destroyed sam fisher's saga). The gameplay can be (actually SHOULD BE) very tactical. You can give very simple orders to teammates. It is a not at all as tactical as older ghost recons, but the overall gameplay style is ok and well balanced. You can't really go and shoot everybody, you have to plan something first. Graphics are nice with some spots like 'what the hell?' with awful textures and some flickering shadows, general level design is also nice. 12 hours to complete the campaign without worrying about achievements. Good game if cheap (not more than 10 euros I would say). 75/100

The Typing of The Dead: Overkill7
Aug 24, 2014
So, it was not really clear to me what kind of game this was. But yes, it is a game where you kill zombies by......TYPING on your keyboard stuff that comes on the screen. If you are familiar with the house of the dead series (ever been to some arcade game center?), this is just as fun, with grindhouse style, funny dialogues etc. On pc is almost impossible to properly have a peripheral that simulates a gun (on PS you have PS move, on wii the wiimote...), so they chose they keyboard as a shooting device. It's LOTS of fun. I have a mechanical keyboard (Razer Blackwidow latest version) and it just looks like you're machine-gun-shooting letters in the face of the enemies. If you are a fast typer you will really enjoy the challenge. If you are a slow typer, you will enjoy it too, just will die more :D Also reading the words that come on screen is fun because they may make you laugh from time to time. Funny stuff. On the downside, the normal 'house of the dead' which is required anyway if you want to get all achievements, is boring as hell....shooting stuff with a mouse watching the cursor is not really entertaining...... Only CONS: - they released different vocabularies (check the **** each vocabulary is sold separately and is not very cheap. They should have released all the dictionaries in the normal release of the game, without limiting to one or two dictionnaries. - the game renders at 720p whatever resolution you choose. Menus will look fine but the game engine output stays at 720p. 78/100 The Typing of the Dead 45/100 The House of the Dead (played with a mouse)

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist6
Aug 24, 2014
This is more or less a Splinter Cell Double Agent with the style of SC Conviction, nothing more. Some spots (some=very few) felt exactly like Chaos Theory but it was just not enough. The game feels like a normal blockbuster, and ubisoft added all these features about unlocking equipment, upgrading and buying stuff with money you earn by doing the mission in a certain way and doing stupid soulless side missions and so on.... Well, I did not like it and I am a huge fan of Sam Fisher. It is ok, it feels like Splinter Cell but it is still the rotten Splinter Cell we carry on since Double Agent. Buy it very cheap if you really miss some stealth action but be warned, it does not differ so much from the latest Splinter Cell games. The atmosphere is just not there. Repetitive missions, and not enough communicative. 60/100

Magrunner: Dark Pulse7
Aug 24, 2014
Nice ! The story is so **** the puzzles are quite cool. Basically, mix the mechanics of Portal and Q.U.B.E. together, add Unreal Engine 3, try to put some crazy story together and you have magrunner. The magnet interactions were a nice change from the portals or the stuff you found in Quantum Conundrum. In a way, Magrunner is still different from all the others. It is no masterpiece but it is definitely a good puzzle game. Enemies will also come in some levels to put you some pressure, and the puzzles change enough to keep you interested. The story though (if there is one) is what it **** better than nothing I guess, and the game has still atmosphere and is polished enough to be enjoyed. 12 Hours to play everything and get every trophy. Get this cheap and go past the beginning that looks a bit lame. 72/100

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat8
Aug 24, 2014
B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. :) played with "complete mod". I didn't play Clear Sky as I always heard it was quite bad. This call of pripyat is a bit different from the first stalker shadow of chernobyl. Rapid transport makes things easier. Atmosphere is as thick as in the first...emissions are really scary the first times. Story, though, not so elaborate. The first was more mysterious, and thing with the wishgranter and the whole exploration until you get to Chernobyl was perfect. Here the Pripyat town could have been more immersive and complete, as it is the last map you reach. More similar to the real one...only a few empty buildings, instead. No swimming pool, no ferris **** the game remains one of those games you feel bad completing it. 32 hours to do more or less everything. 85/100.

Penumbra: Black Plague8
Aug 24, 2014
So basically this gets the beginning right from the end of the first chapter. Everything is better: puzzles, atmosphere, the plot unveils more and it is scarier. I liked it more than the first. I haven't played requiem yet, but IMHO the ending of this Black Plague can be the end of the series. I know that Requiem goes on but that it didn't get the same popularity as the first two...I will play it anyway and see if I like it, but for me, a player could stop at Black Plague, the ending is no cliffhanger ending.

Penumbra: Overture8
Aug 18, 2014
Ok, after so many years I was finally able to play the whole chapter. I am very sensitive to horror games....I was never able to go past the first level, I tried many times and I always stopped. Once I got used to the 'fear' system of the game, the game stopped being too scary for me and I started enjoying instead of seeing it as a torture (this is a message to the chicken people like me who are scared by such games). Anyway, the game is cool enough. First of all, keep in mind that this is a Chapter. The game has no end, it is a cliffhanger ending so if you are one of those (like me) that hate unfinished things, keep in mind that even if you don't like the game so much, you will have to play all three chapters (overture, black plague, requiem) to see the end of the story. This chapter is quite short (6 hours are enough). Puzzles are nice, physics serve well that purpose. Graphically it is pleasant. Sounds is also still good enough for today's standards and controls are interesting. Can't say about the story because I have to play 2nd and 3rd chapter yet, but what can I **** far so good ! 75/100
