The developer nailed the core feeling of the game and this was by far their most important task. Also, I really like the additions so far. The new lockpicking is genius, as you can no longer just easily empty the whole camp and get ahead. The new system is harder and takes more time—getting this balance right sounds like an almost impossible task. Optimization and bugs were really bad at launch, but quick patches have improved it a lot by now.

Playing the first time it edged closer and closer to a perfect 10. So many things done right, that I was willing to overlook some of the weaker parts. Strongest part of the game was the care centre with Grace. Leons action is also very enjoyable and always welcome, but maybe giving him a separate spin-off action game where he can flex his axe the next time around. Unfortunetly after completing it, there is not much to do afterwards and I kind of feel like drag to do the no-herb and blood-collector run. Feels like they skimmed the soup a bit to put it into DLCs. Don't get me wrong, it is a very high quality game and I would buy it again, but lets wait for the DLCs to see what the final score will be. I thought that Insanity would be a desert like madhouse was, but it does not work as well, the recipe is just not on the same level.

After Re6 the francize was dead to me. Ignored 7 for a long time, but once I finally gave the demo a try, I was sold. First person takes a moment to get used to, but once it does it fits perfectly and in many ways makes the exp. even better. As does the fact that the game is only vaguely connected to the other titles - a new take - you are not playing as a hero zombie destroyer, but as everyday normal guy who is freaked out by all the stuff that starts to happen. The best parts of the game are character development as the protagonist grows to the task and the Baker Estate it self. First person and so different in so many ways, but also so so Resident Evil. Best Game, even after playing 9. Also some of the best DLCs, except "Not a Hero".

It might be a bit disappointing to some that this new GOW is nothing like the original trilogy, but on the other hand it probably might just be the best game on the PS4. It was bold from Santa Monica to abandon a winning formula and rebuild everything from the ground up. This makes it even more remarkable what they were able to achieve here, as abandoning a fan favorite winning formula is often a recipe for disaster. They somehow managed to get so so many things just right. This time around GOW is more mature and for me personally managed to struck all the right chords. It is enjoyable to accompany an older more mature Kratos, who has grown somewhat tired of all the fighting and blood shed. Loved every step of the way on my journey to platinum. Stunning graphics, a grand adventure in an epic world and the pinnacle would be the deep and satisfying combat system. If I could recommend only one PS4 game, this would be it. Santa Monica you did an excellent job here, will be waiting for you to open up the next realms.
