Gothic 1 Remake7
Jun 17, 2026
The positives: Great graphics and story polishing. Good overhaul of melee combat that modernizes the original. Still does not manage to remove all the jank. The negatives: Abysmal mage gameplay compared to the original. Zero play testing and miserable experience as pure mage. Abysmal lock picking system. Unplayable on PS5 on day 1. Overall: If you liked the original, play it. But play as melee with a little bit of magic. If they had balanced mage gameplay, it would be an 8 or 9.

A try-hard Zelda look-alike with forgettable story and boring characters. The tutorials and controls are probably the worst of all time. But some bosses are fun, albeit grossly out of balance.

WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers7
Aug 25, 2025
On the positives, I applaud the different mechanics and playstyles the developer is adding here, especially the Clash mechanic as well as the replenishing spell resource using dodging. These are great ideas. On the negatives, the end bosses felt unbalanced for certain playstyles (I started with magic but switched to dual swords for the later half of the game). The areas also felt quite repetitive and too long at times. Finally, this obscure quest system of Souls-likes is obsolete and needs to die.

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach10

A true work of art: raw, unfiltered, **** crazy. (Kojima, give us some of your drugs man, seriously.) If you reach the final 3 hours of the main story, you won't forget it any time soon. The gameplay loop is peculiar but if you chill and vibe with it, it becomes addicting. The graphics are probably among the best ever and the technical achievement of near-zero loading times is astounding. The music elevates the game and puts the emotions on overdrive. Overall, a slow burner game that is not for everyone, but definitely a game everyone should respect.

Final Fantasy XVI: The Rising Tide5

The person who thought the timed phase on the final boss is somehow hard should be fired and never hired again anywhere. Pure cancer mechanic that deserves scorn and shame.

What an accomplishment! Fresh air in the JRPG genre with sublime art direction and great gameplay. I will remember this game for a long time.

Platforming sections are hot garbage. Cute otherwise. Learn how to build levels before you build games.

Black Myth: Wukong8

The story and the cutscenes are a work of art. The exploration and the hidden bosses are also pretty fun. I would rate this a 9 but the gameplay was pretty repetitive because of the limited movesets for the staff/spear.

Enotria: The Last Song7

Good Souls-like game, a bit rough around the edges. Some mechanics such as the unique "elemental" damage are quite interesting. The atmosphere was also pretty good.

The First Berserker: Khazan9
Mar 29, 2025
The game is a love child of Sekiro and Nioh 2. The structure is largely based on Nioh while the combat is largely based on Sekiro but with more weapon choices (like Nioh but not as many). The combat is so good that the spear in Khazan feels better than Wukong that focused exclusively on staff//spear. The only problem in the game is balancing as the bosses can feel wildly difficult if you have not mastered the combat. Once you do, you can actually demolish most bosses but many people may stop playing due to difficulty spikes (e.g., Viper).

Monster Hunter Wilds7
Mar 4, 2025
The campaign is pretty forgettable and the improvements compared to MH Rise are minimal. The monster roster is (still) pretty limited and there is no real challenge. I may come back when they add Master Rank and/or additional Ranks or Apexes. Until then, this was sadly a single weekend game.

Abysmal combat. Stupid mechanics on hard. The only good thing is the atmosphere. The gameplay is just bad.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II10

A masterpiece carrying the true essence of RPGs. Side missions could be better but the main story is such a treat it deserves a 10/10 anyway. And finally, the soundtrack is one for the ages.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard9
Nov 8, 2024
DA Veilguard has the best gameplay out of every DA game and nightmare difficulty is a blast (literally, I play as mage). The story is OK but the dialogues are too simplistic and should be less childish. I hope the game eventually finds the love it deserves.

Enotria: The Last Song7

This game priced at $50 should have way less bugs than it does. I would normally support the effort from an independent developer but the hidden final boss is currently broken aka the game cannot be completed which is an unforgivable offense.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance9
Jul 2, 2024
A unique truly memorable experience. Realistic, unforgiving, hilarious, an RPG as pure as it gets. Quests can be very fun (“Playing with the devil”, enough said) but the combat has a serious learning curve (and needs improvements for one-vs-many battles). Played it in summer 2024 by chance, now can’t wait for the sequel.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen8
Mar 17, 2024
A unique game that created a new sub-genre with extremely high potential. If this genre focuses in its AI usage for pawns and enemies, it will make the experience unforgettable. Has some balancing issues in stat leveling via vocations. But the Dark Arisen portion raised the ceiling substantially. Still playable in 2024, after all, they are masterworks all, you can't go wrong.

Demon's Souls8

A nearly perfect remake although it should have offered a mode that fixes some balancing bugs and a mode that does not. It tried a bit too hard to not stray from the original at all, to its slight detriment.

The world and art direction here are alien, probably the best ever. The combat however is slightly inferior to Dark Souls 3. A nearly perfect game but with some imperfections. It will completely consume you the first time you play it.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous8
Mar 17, 2024
Pros: Extremely deep mechanics and high replay-ability due to huge number of classes and legendary path combinations. A-Amazing music. Cons: The rules (of pathfinder in general) are in dire need of re-balancing (e.g., ACs of 70+ are ridiculous).
