Silent Hunter III8

Still a great game that holds up all these years later. There are still tons of fun and interesting mods to play. No game is without problems, and this game's issues stem from the clunky crew management system, and issues with video options (can't set your own resolutions without downloading a tweak).

Battlefield 43

The game is a huge disappointment because it resembles Battlefield 3 and the single player campaign is less than 5 hours long. The core multiplayer mechanics have barely changed, the graphics haven't been truly updated enough to call the engine Frostbite 3, and the multiplayer maps are lacking. Not to mention that you have to shell out 120 dollars for the base game and premium just to get the entire experience. EA has truly ruined the Battlefield series.

Mount & Blade: Warband9

I have literally played this game for over 300 hours after the initial purchase. The vanilla single-player, while lacking a tad, is amazing and quite unique. Becoming a Lord is no easy task and takes time, with becoming a respectable king/queen even longer. The multiplayer is an entirely different experience. The skill curve is higher than most games, and it takes quite some time to become like the pros. There are tons of mods, and the developers encourage modding their game which is something every developer should do for their PC launches. Graphics are 'outdated' but authentic and believable. Sounds are good. After playing several mods I wish the developers added more diplomatic features or more variety in terms of troop trees and locations. It's a great game, and is well worth more than the selling price. I cannot wait for Mount and Blade 2.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim7

After playing well over 100 hours in the game as a warrior, a mage, and a ranger, I must say that this game has many great ideas and quite a few flaws. The world is amazing; Skyrim is a living and breathing place and you get the sense of that just by walking through the towns or running through the tundra and seeing giants and mammoths roam. Combat can be really fun, especially when you toss in dragons to spice things up. Dragon fights are probably the most fun fights but can get boring and easy later on. The main quest line is the only quest line that really stands out in the whole game, immersion in the world can easily be broken by the creation engine's limitations, actual RPG elements like chopping wood and cooking are nice but there aren't nearly enough and it feels half done, and combat can get dull pretty quickly due to combat limitations. Props to Bethesda for using the Steam Workshop, finally releasing the CK, and giving us a free HR DLC. Even though the game can be lame at times, and even though there is no DX11, it's still pretty solid.

Mass Effect 35

As a big fan of multiple RPGs, and fan of the first two Mass Effect games, this game does not live up to current RPG standards. The plot is unusually boring, the gameplay is surprisingly lacking, the graphics and animations have barely been touched since ME2, and worst of all the game's ending is the biggest let down I've witnessed in years. The most outrageous thing about ME3 is that the day one downloadable content contains information that is crucial to the series as a whole. This game was the biggest letdown to me in years, and I almost feel as if I have been ripped off.
