A drop in quality from the previous two seasons. A huge focus on tedious relationship drama with characters we don't care about, twists that don't make sense, narrative whiplash at various points, contrived stakes that don't really make sense, and an increasingly unlikeable cast. Things started off well but start to go south after a mid-season time jump and then get really weak in the final two episodes. Still though, there's more good than bad. Great acting, most of the season the political storyline is interesting and engaging. Things started off strong, but got worse over the course. The first few episodes are a solid 8, maybe higher, the last two more like a 5/6.

An excellent first 10 minutes. Ncuti and Millie absolutely shine, and they have wonderful chemistry. We get a real glimpse of how great this new era could be. Then the space babies come and the quality completely nosedives. Take out the first 10 minutes and you have one of the worst episodes of Doctor Who ever.

A strong episode completely ruined by the completely ridiculous resolution and then an absolutely awful musical number. In this new era of Doctor Who, apparently nothing has to make sense anymore. Things just happen for no reason - logic or even basic narrative cohesion be damned. Why should I care about a show that doesn't even care about itself? That doesn't even *try* to make sense? Episode 1 had a strong initial 10 minutes before it turned bad. At least this episode had a strong 40 minutes before turning bad. That's an improvement. But the awful in this episode is so awful it drags everything else down.

It is extremely difficult to rate the entire series when the quality varies so massively. The first four season were exceptional, 5 was poor, 6 was an extremely mixed bag, and 7 and 8 were absymal. As an overall I'd give it a 6.

I thought it was strong. They definitely took a risk in not having a primary antagonist, but I think it paid off. The pacing was quite slow, but I don't think there's anything wrong with that if the writing is good enough to justify it. Some of Ritter's voiceovers were so bad it's funny, but that's really the only bad dialogue I can think of. I can see why more traditional Marvel fans didn't like season 2, but speaking as someone who doesn't care about action sequences and isn't a big fan of Marvel, I like that Jessica Jones is different, and more character-focused. It's not your typical generic superhero plot, but that's a strength, not a weakness. If you like character-driven narratives that aren't afraid to take their time, you'll probably like Jessica Jones. If you're just looking for a simple fast-paced plot with lots of action sequences, it's not for you.
