Counterpart: Season 18
Feb 26, 2018
The first several episodes rely too much on J.K. Simmons to carry the show. The motives of the key players are unclear and at times it is difficult to determine what is going on. However, as the show progresses, the identities become clearer if not the motives. Although it is a bit pretentious and heavy handed, it definitely improves as the show unfolds. You just have to be patient and your trust will be rewarded.

The Indian Detective: Season 18
Jan 5, 2018
Unusual comedic detective show with scenes split between Toronto and Mumbai. The lead character is a Canadian/Indian detective who isn't exactly Sherlock Holmes. But unlike your initial impression of him, he's not a complete idiot either. Since the actor is a comedian, he gets the funny lines. If you are looking for the standard police procedural, you won't find it here. But if you're looking for something which doesn't take itself too seriously and has both comedic and crime, elements you may find it enjoyable. The scenes of Indian street life (Mumbai) are extremely interesting and one of its strongest points.

Alias Grace: Season 16
Nov 5, 2017
This falls under the unreliable narrator genre. Unremittingly grim and humorless. Grace, and women in general, are very badly treated. Slow and somewhat repetitive. The actress who plays Grace is excellent. The actor who plays the alienist is not. It is decent but not in the same ballpark as The Handmaid's Tale.
