It's terrible that a pay to win game like this comes along and tries to ride the legendary wave that is BotW. Shameless appropriation and not well done at that. Game is unable to sustain the level of fun for very long, even at early stages, because it is rather bland. You're better off playing BotW again.

This game could've been epic, but I think they gave up when Epic paid them enough money to move on to other projects. Game is unpolished, and downright lazy in some aspects. Very disappointed.
Pros: - Good gameplay, at first - Graphic is fantastic and character design is really top notch - Top notch voice acting to go with top notch character design. Cons: - Repetitive gameplay. Even with loots the game gets dull quickly. - Game is unstable. Expect to crash and lose 30 minutes of progress once every few hours if you're unlucky. - No dedicated server, so expect to lose all progress if host leaves or gets disconnected. - Toxic community, more so than average toxic games.
Definitely going against the "establishment" of shoot stuff all day. I'm definitely enjoying it. The game is extremely well designed and is immersive. Immersion rarely happens these days but this game... it's something else. Future cult hit, calling it.
I don't like Rogue/Roguelite games and bought this game without realizing it, but I'm glad I did. The story elements and art style, as well as smooth gameplay and randomized dungeons really come together beautifully. Highly recommended.
I have been experiencing crashes ("Fatal Error") very often, once every hour to as often as within minutes, and so far nothing I've tried helped. I've brought this up at official forums and while the community has been helpful the devs have not addressed the issue for several months now despite multiple posts. Recently I've learned that my video card is considered low priority as well. With heavy heart I am changing my positive review to a negative one in protest.
Poor man's "They Are Billions" with day 1 DLC to boot. Although the game itself is entertaining, you're still better off with TAB for now. Wait for sale.
You wanted Left4Dead 3? You've come to the right place mate. Pros: The hordes of zombies aren't mashed potatoes. They just look like one. They are actual individual zombies you shoot (peel) off, one by one. Whoever that did the design on the mechanics of this, gets the FUQIN AWESOME DUDE/DUDETTE AWARD! Cons: Game crashed once. Yeah, it's new release. Sometimes I get mad, sometimes I don't because the game's amazing. I mean, AMAZING.
Alien diversity? No, more like humanized zoo animals. How are they so not imaginative? Also the game is more shallow than you'd expect. Everything is too simplified, especially the fleet combat. The game boils down to Early rush -> boring mid game -> steam rolling everyone else. Not recommended.
Pros: - Beautiful art - Good Japanese voice acting - Smooth combat Cons: - Terribly thin and generic story. Early teens or kids might like it though - Games tries to do too many things and makes the entire game shallow - Shameless copying of sounds from Zelda Breath of the Wild - Turn based is still better. Might've been good to see X-Com style combat instead of the poorly executed warfare combat.

They did many things right. Mainly the graphic, sound, music and animation. Basically all the "front side" of things. Just about everything else (the "back end") is clunky and feels incomplete however. You can read all about it in the negative reviews.
Very fun game if you have friends to play with. You CAN play with strangers online but the mileage just isn't the same without real friends. Only downside is that some mini games seem to favor the host.
The game is overhyped and I suspect the critics were influenced to make the game better than it seems. The controls are a major issue in this game as others have pointed out, and the game seems good at first, but quickly fades as you enter into the meat of the game. I have no idea why so many left perfect 10 score here, so I will balance it with a 0 of my own
My score: 9.6 Unique take on X-Com styled gameplay. It's not perfect, no game is, but it's one of rare games that will make you think it's perfect. It's one of few games not worth waiting for sale. Scratch that itch with Phantom Doctrine.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 is nearly a clone of Valkyria Chronicles 1, which in this game is actually a good thing and a relief after the Azure Revolution that was terrible. That being said while it IS a good game there is one important flaw that I need to address: the story. The story feels more or less like the devs came up in a bit of rush, then stretched it thin using many micro fillers. It's not bad by any means, but I can't say that it's good either. The first one in the series had a much better story I'm afraid. Don't let my review disappoint you too much though, you'll still enjoy it, just don't expect it to be quite as epic as the first one

This game does not deserve a 9+. The game seems to have a lot of things to do, but when you take a step back the game is about rather than quality. - Quests are terrible. I wish they had been more creative. - Story is lacking. Feels very diluted and stretched thin. - Characters are not very likable. - Combat is clunky - Game is buggy, as expected of Bethesda..

More like a 9, but seeing the 0 ratings I'll balance against it and give it a boost. Having played medicore JRPG series such as YS and Tales, I got into this game with low expectations. The game turned out to be much better than I expected! Not as good as Persona 5 but definitely worth the cost at release, and I'm very cheap when it comes to games. I paid the full price knowing Nintendo games stay high for a **** unless the game ****. Anyway, highly recommended.
One of the best games to play with your significant other that does not play video games ever. I do the controlling, and she did made the decisions. Best co-op ever :)
Would have been a good game if there was an end goal other than participating in looping gameplay. Because there is no proper end goal, there is no motivation and because there is no motivation there is no fun.
Groundbreaking of Pay-To-Win genre that takes P2W to a new level. Intense skill at spending real money will allow you to shame all other players for not spending hundreds of dollars for minor upgrades.
I bought this game due to good reviews. I feel as if I've been duped because it lacks a soul. The story is so generic and bare, and the horrible voice acting sounds just like it's been copied from Pokemon. I may have enjoyed the game if I was 12, but no.

I was a bit looking forward to this game but I had my doubts. Lots of it, and unfortunately my doubts became real. The game was meant to refresh the series from stagnant mechanics and this one struck the series across its legs and cause the entire series to collapse. I don't think this the series will survive this latest installment.
As one of JRPG fans, I have to say this game is a disappointment that slides backward from the spirits of old JRPG's where the game was driven by well written plot. Unfortunately the most important element, story, falls short with this game, which is no longer surprising considering Square Enix's involvement. I cannot recommend this game. It simply tarnishes the reputation of old JRPG's such as Chrono Trigger and FF series.
I've been playing for about a week and below are my impressions: Pros: - Solid gameplay - Good graphics - Good OST Cons: - Cheesy/weak story - Poor English voice acting I personally found this game to be a great disappointment after having read so many positive reviews.
I've been a big fan of JRPG's since the 90's and played much of them. So I thought to give this game a try. Big mistake. Why in the world is this game considered good, I will never know. The game takes you through pointless A to B, then B to A, only to ask you to go from A to B again. Story is juvenile teen romance mixed up with shallow story that was disappointing to no end. I kept thinking ok, maybe in the end it will make me change my mind. Maybe I just haven't reached the climax of the story yet. Nope. Shallow throughout. Think the movie/book series "Twilight". Many are a fan of the series. I sure as hell am not a fan of "Twilight" or "The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky".
This game is one of the best co-op game I've played. Only downside is that it's not that fun playing by yourself so make sure you got a buddy to play with. Price is very reasonable to have this kind of game handy for buddy plays.
I have loads of backlogs but didn't really fee like playing any. Then I discovered Dungeons 3 and it's basically hitting the spot. It's the kind of strategy game that keeps me VERY interested and engaged. It's mainly RTS, but it's got pretty decent tower defense element going with it. Every stage introduces a new mechanic and god I love the narratives. They really did a good job with this game. This game is HIGHLY recommended for all strategy game addicts such as myself.
Let me begin by saying that I hate platformers. Never liked them. I did enjoy playing Mario a little bit but never got into it even as a child. I do however appreciate a well made game, and Cuphead, if anything, is a well made game. I bought it and am enjoying it mostly for its creativity, not for the platforming itself. I play it so that I can explore all the artistry that went into this game. I can't imagine the amount of work, creativity and love that went into this work of art.
Edit: The game has been taking a spiral downward and the crashing of game is so frequent that I've had to adjust my score. I've tried taking the mods off, use repair function, even reinstalled the game. I built my PC using compatible parts. I'm guessing the issue specifically has to do with hardware compatibility with the game however. Note that the issue I'm experiencing is rather common in PC servers. Pros: - Immersive gameplay full of lore, beautiful world and life - Subscription is not required - Base game has tons of content - Voice acting everywhere - Has the most roleplayers I've seen - Can turn into werewolf/vampire, and can steal/kill innocents - Diverse build potentials Neutral: - Toxicity level of community hovers at average. Better than WoW, but worse than FF14 Cons: - Too, many, bots - Plenty of bugs - Character models are pretty bad - Housing that serves no utility aside from DPS dummy and craft stations if you are incredibly fortunate or wealthy enough to afford them - Content development lags while introduction of cash items are unrelenting - Randomized cash "crate" (like Korean MMO's) that produces duplicates of undesirable items at a very high rate - Overpriced and inflating cash shop items - Starving players of inventory space then offering inventory space for subscribers - Dressing Morrowind as an "expansion" when it's actually the size of DLC, then announcing DLC's tied to the said "expansion", preventing subscribers from any future DLC content tied to the "expansion"
This is exactly what I wanted for a long time. Hud/interface-less game with consequence for dying too much. At last a developer that made that come to life.
Your review must be at least 150 characters long. Your review must be at least 150 characters long. (edit: left review on a wrong game and do not know how to delete it, so I'm giving it a 9 to match average review score)
Morrowind "expansion" is actually more aptly called DLC. However by calling it an expansion, the devs now can exclude subscribers that do not purchase Morrowind from future contents related to Morrowind. That being said what's there is good, there's no doubt about that. The price point however should be no more than $20.
Pros: It's not WoW. FF14 felt too close to WoW so I couldn't play it. Cons: Herds players into subscription model by giving you too little bag space. That's a big minus for me, otherwise the game gets a solid 9 from me. It's more like a 7.5 due to it but I rounded it up.
This game is easily one of the best games ever made. Everything about this game is perfect: Story, graphic, acting (Japanese), music, sound, etc down to menus exude quality. It's easy to see why there had been so much hype about this game and the game deserves it. Way to go Atlus!!
The game is much better than what the user reviews say. I *almost* cancelled my pre-order due to the reviews and I'm really glad that I didn't click that button. The multiplayer alone was worth it, and I held single player off because I feared the worst. The first few hours weren't exactly awe inspiring but it was entertaining enough. After finishing off an entire day's worth, I learned that this game is a LOT better than my initial assessment. I was literally in for a treat, a LOT of treats. I'm shocked at the score honestly and suspect that most of negativity comes from people that haven't even really given the game much chance.
I typically never pre-order but I had to pre-order this one and I'm glad I did because it was a good bet. Pro: - Likable protagonist - Gorgeous world - Complex AI - Intriguing story - innovative combat/strategy Con: - Side quests aren't anything special I would give this game a 9.5 really, but rounded up to 10. Worth every $ in my opinion.
While the quality of the game is definitely on the high end and standing on its own away from "similar" games of the genre, it's the story that brings down what could have been a 9/10 game. Without a good story, it feels like you're doing whatever the game's offering for no real reason. Basically the game becomes a chore after a while with nothing to look forward to except the usual progression.
