An entertaining, engaging, absurdist comedy of errors with a driving performance from Lee Byung-hun as a father on the brink of insanity who is scrambling to maintain the lifestyle he and his family have grown accustomed to. The political/social/economic commentary feels specific and satisfying, especially in the film's final sequence.

Sentimental Value's strong emotional core and moving performances make up for the moments where the narrative slows or drags at certain points. Might've worked well as a stage play, ironically.

Stellar ensemble cast! Standout performance from Tânia Maria as Dona Sebastiana. I was surprised by the decision to split the narrative between two eras, but I found it effective and poignant.

SUPREME-ly entertaining. Timotheé, Tyler, and Odessa give incredible and engaging performances alongside some of the best needle drops of 2025.

I saw this film at the Chicago International Film Festival back in September. A strong directorial debut, contemporary without feeling cringeworthy. Refreshingly sympathetic towards male adolescence, smarty written, visually and sonically appealing! Standout performances from the young leads and young ensemble.
