This is a really difficult title to enjoy. If you have played the first one, then the controls are slower, less integrated and more touchy than the previous game. Weapons are less effective and controllable. Every level is designed for two players. While one player can complete them it changes the game completely from a blend of strategy and shooter into an arcade disaster of hack'n slash. The graphics and program itself are certainly smoother and run more easily, however, there is no real improvement in the level of presentation. While the menus and advancement in the first were more simplified and this has more customization, it is significantly handicapping while developing your character. The two games are simply backwards. On its own or as the first, this game would have been a 6 or 7, generic fun, good humor, alright gameplay. As a sequel it is absolute garbage in the vein of Spaceballs' Yogurt, "The Quest For More Money." Might have worked as spin-off or multiplayer presentation, but it is hard to forgive a less refined game with sloppier controls as a sequel. Can only recommend this game specifically to people who have not played or seen the first and that means marketing to people not interested. Hugely disappointing.

The Premise is beautiful, no story, just massacre as many zombies as possible. Stylized. Almost artistic. The unbelievable downfall is the controls are some of the worst every. Unintuitive, slow, clumsy, and unresponsive. Unforgivable for what amounts to and arcade- type game. Simply hilarious to watch but miserable to play.

This game is in the vein of Alice, and Madness Returns, and Psychonauts. Better graphics than any of them with less style (same recycled style of recent Batman movies.) Simplified controls with in game tutorial prompts and solid response. This game would be a solid 9 (10 if you like Batman). I personally have to drop the score as I constantly found myself looking to recoup enjoyment since install required FIVE different non game software packages (Steam, SecuROM, Windows Games, Nvidia Phsyx requiring brand specific card for full features, and XNA, plus DirectX and Game itself), three separate logins, two cd key entries, and SIX firewall exemptions, all for a game that you MUST be connected to save or access content. This game is seriously a needed boost for the dark humor action vain that always recieves attention for it's rarity and it does not disappoint. As a purchase It's hard to recommend if you are not a serious gamer who already has gone through every hoop already and don't love the Bat, since Alice, Riddick and a couple others can do the same. If this is just adding to your library then it is a wild and flowing ride that certainly delivers entertain dollar.
