The Evil Within10

What a genius design. Everything is a strategic resource, the matches and the crossbow dominated the whole resource cycle, makes you think how to solve the battle situation with maximum efficiency. Too bad the general players don't get how genius this design is.....

Crimson Desert3
Mar 21, 2026
Crimson Desert is a textbook case of ambition without direction. It borrows heavily from great open-world games, but only on the surface, failing to understand the design principles that made them work. It tries to replicate the slow pacing and immersion of Red Dead Redemption 2, yet completely fails at the fundamentals: there’s no strong writing, no compelling character development, and no one the player can truly care about. The world asks you to slow down, but gives you no emotional reason to do so. At the same time, it borrows puzzle elements from The Legend of Zelda: BOTW and The Legend of Zelda: TOTK, but without the systemic logic that makes those puzzles work. While it presents the illusion of multiple solutions, each puzzle is rigidly scripted with a single intended answer, often forcing players to rely on trial-and-error or guides instead of intuition. The result is a disjointed experience where systems clash, exploration feels hollow, and nothing truly comes together. Yes the game is very big in scale, but fundamentally empty at its core.

Hollow Knight: Silksong6
Sep 9, 2025
After three days with Silksong, I can’t hide my disappointment. It feels less like a long-awaited sequel and more like a DLC extension of the first game. The difficulty often feels artificial—challenging for the sake of it, not for rewarding design. Many bosses give nothing upon victory, not even currency, leaving a hollow sense of progress. The “Souls-like” storytelling, intriguing in 3D action games, feels misplaced and unnecessarily cryptic in a 2D metroidvania. Instead of meaningful depth, it comes across as pretentious. I honestly don’t understand the hype surrounding this release.

Cronos: The New Dawn8
Sep 8, 2025
A solid new survival horror IP, with mechanics from classic survival horror games, such as RE, SH, Dead Space etc. If you are are fan of such games, you will enjoy Cronos a lot. Narrative is a bit vague if you only play once, since the game only allow player to carry 3 human souls. But after New Game+, the story will become easier to understand. It has deeper meaning than what it looks like on surface.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 339
Sep 6, 2025
As a long-time player, Expedition 33 felt like stepping back into the magic of my childhood with Final Fantasy VIII and X, yet elevated into something more profound. Its world design and combat instantly evoked the sense of discovery I once cherished, while the narrative dared to explore the essence of grief with a maturity rarely found in JRPGs today. This isn’t nostalgia for nostalgia’s sake—it’s a carefully crafted journey that respects the classics while carving its own identity. For me, it rekindled the joy of being young while speaking directly to the adult I’ve become.
