This game feels like it was designed to be as annoying for the player as possible. It starts off as a rather boring side-scroller with nothing but zombies that just walk left and right, easily dispatched and not much platforming to be had. HOWEVER, very quickly it piles on all of the most annoying enemy types: flying enemies that swoop and sting you and invert your controls, zombies that vomit and will hit you from all the way across the screen, green dripping goo that hurts you, tentacles that follow you under the ground, enemies that do a ground-pound and hurt you if you don't jump in the air, annoying dolls and puppets that latch onto you making you move slow and hindering your jump, zombies and puppets that burst out of windows/doors/vents, enemies that charge at you full-speed out of nowhere, spikes covering everything, conveyor belts, slippery surfaces, falling platforms, enemies that throw flaming tanks that explode and cover everything in fire, enemies that explode when you defeat them with the blast radius filling half the screen... doesn't that sound FUN?! By the end you have about a half dozen of these different enemies all swarming you at the same time while ALSO trying to do challenging platforming sections. The best part is you get maybe one checkpoint the entire level which is usually towards the end anyways so hope you like redoing the entire level over and over. The hub with the collectibles is nice, the realm swapping is an interesting mechanic... but in the end this game just made me want to break my controller. I like a good challenge, but this is just annoying. I had hope for RetroRealms and future updates and licenses but my excitement is completely deflated at this point.

This game had the potential to be the best MMPR game ever but I didn't know I was buying what ended up being half bullet-hell shooter. An exercise in frustration all around and once you choose difficulty, only way to change it is to start completely over.

I'm so confused how even years later the remake STILL doesn't have options to remap controls. As someone who has played Beat Saber for years, I have a strong urge for red to be on the left and blue to be on the right and it's the opposite and it literally makes this game almost unplayable to me because I'm constantly using the opposite joystick/trigger the game requires. Just seems like a simple no-brainer option and it's not in either version of the **** even the option to change controls for accessibility. Just crazy to me and it quite literally ruins the game for me.

Would rate higher, but once I saw how grindy it was going to be to unlock everything, I noped out pretty quick. I don't enjoy the game enough to spend the 1000s of hours it would take to unlock everything. Bummer. Surprised this is the THIRD iteration in a short time frame and it's still like this.
