This game is a good example of why it's hard to use reviews for video games. It gets 4/10 on Metacritic but it's one of the most popular game, somewhere in the top 10, if not top 5. So clearly something does not make sense. Why would people play if it was so bad ? Personally, I think the game is not perfect but it's great, especially with the Creative mode, which are basically games within the game. So there is something for everyone and it's free and it's cross platform and it's kids friendly but also great for grown-ups!

Good but not yet great. Would be nice to have a solo mode a least. Currently you can only play with squads of 3 people. Unfortunately, too many times, other players (even using discord), don't listen much to the rest of the team and you end up dying simply because you are alone against another team. So too often you end up having to follow other people who don't play as a team. At least PUBG has a solo mode. In Rainbow Six and BF4, you have a team but you can still perform well without them. In Apex, good people tend to really stick together so if your team does not, you are dead.

Positive: - cutscenes are beautiful with good facial animations and the game looks good - relatively varied and beautiful environments despite enemies that are too creepy for my taste - an option to turn gore off while many games don't offer it - take cover works well, does different from other shooters Negatives: - absence of indications on what to do and no map (at least to date) - the "health omen" (omen of health aka indicative of damage) .. how to say, it's ugly - the enemies are relatively bullet sponges, you shoot but you don't really know in how many minutes they will die like (possibility to activate the health bars in the options at least), we spend half the game reloading our gun - we too are bullet sponges so it leaves the impression that our decisions in combat don't matter because there is no great risk, especially since our comrades can revive us, we don't really know how much health we have anyway (see health omen) - no "auto pick up ammo", funny animation, slowed progress for nothing, often lacks ammunition (at least to date) - we can reload even if already full .. it makes no sense and it's annoying - strange place at the top right for the amount of remaining ammo, finally we get used to it - limited interactions with the environment, you can't jump, fall, climb or move objects except via a few specific objects - too linear / rigid and I had several bugs despite its simplicity, 3 years after the game was released - not a fan of roadie run animation but you get used to it - no way to get details about our weapons (such as speed, range, accuracy) - cannot save manually - revive a friend by grabbing his arm to lift him up .. OK super realistic - we wear mega armor but no helmet?! (although the character makes a comment that he doesn't like it for his "field of view"...) - collectibles to find .. really offers no interest - the "components" found all over the place in places that make no sense, like on the floor in a poison shop like - it's as if Uncharted and Doom had a child and took on each gender's flaws - weak story

So overrated !! The controls are just so bad, so clunky and the camera so annoying. "Puzzles" are too easy, no challenge except for the bosses and trying to jump with these weird controls. I've played hundreds of games and I just don't get it. The rest is not that bad and if the controls and camera were not that bad, it would not be a great game but not a bad game either.

This game gets way too high score on Xbox. Just compare to PC reviews on Metacritic. 6.9/10 vs 8.4/10. Not sure why but my guess is that Xbox players are probably younger and more casual players. Personally, I left a long review on SensCritique (in french) and I think this games is too shallow. Among other things, the story and the environments are way too limited.

God this game is overrated, it's just tetris with music and some shiny visuals you won't probably look at because you will be looking at the blocks. I played Tetrinet in 1997 and this was far better for the multiplayer. Sounds like many people rating this game highly have not played much else or are way too much into Tetris. Beautiful game but a little short and I think they could make a great game by pushing this game to the next level. At 15$ its not expansive but you can find AAA titles at this price 1-2 years after release. I got it for 8$ so its fine but I dont think I would pay more for this kind of game. Im happy to encourage games that are innovative and I think Child of Light is special for its art design.

Let's just start by saying that the art design is beautiful and the gameplay very fluid. The game is like a mix of Child of Light and Street Fighter. I don't like these 2 games very much but the result is quite interesting. The story, the gameplay and the length are much better than Child of Light Officially it's a mix of 2 styles : side-scrolling beat-em up and RPG. At the beginning, I played it on hard and I found it to be relatively easy, except a few bosses. After a few hours, I ended up switching to easy/normal because on hard, some bosses became just way too long. I think the game would be even better if the difficulty was a little improved. Harder normal areas and shorter boss battles. Many mentioned the repetitive aspect of the game. Personally, I played the first 2 books so far and yes it's a little repetitive but it's really not that bad since the story is quite different and there are new areas in each story. What I find a little repetitive is the gameplay itself. I think they should have made it a little slower paced and more strategic, at least in some areas. Maybe just bosses. Indeed, at some point, there are so many fights and since I'm trying to achieve the best score that I end up using the same overpowered strategies/skills/potions that the fights became just a huge mess of me spamming enemies without letting them any time for attacking. I think it would probably deserve a 9 if it was not for the few issues described above.

It's a good game for playing in front of my kids. Yes, it's relatively easy for someone my age but there are some harder zones. I'm a big fan of Dark Souls but sometimes, I like smaller challenges. I like exploring in this game, trying to find every moon. Using the hat to take control of enemies (NPCs) is a great to make the gameplay a lot more diverse. Like many games from Nintendo, I can't put 10/10 because the graphics are too far behind competition in term of resolution, 1080p should be minimum and 4k should be the goal.

- graphics are great - gameplay is OK - story is weak, cheesy and short - crucible (PvP) felt very generic - end game not interesting for me I got it for free with my graphic card and I enjoyed the game a bit but I don't think it's worth more than 20$. I think mixing FPS and mmorpg together has some potential. I prefer first person to third person so I preferred that game to The Division. But I think both games lack some elements to become successful. To be relevant, this game would have needed a better and longer story and a more refined PVP or some interesting/challenging end game things to do. For now, it's just yet another shooter.

I tried this game quickly and I really don't understand people saying that the graphics are beautiful. First, you can play in 1080p since over 10 years on PS3 and the WiiU is still at 720p (900p for the Switch). With the PS4 Pro you can even reach 4k. So, according to today's standards, this does not look good. I mean, there are some games that looks relatively good on the WiiU like Super Mario Maker and Mario Kart 8 but Zelda looks so washed + draw distance, fogginess, and texture looks pretty bad. Let's compare it to another open world game released 2 years ago and we are far away from Witcher 3 ... just go see Uncharted 4 and it looks like Botw was released 20 years ago.

I'm a big fan of Battlefield but I don't like BF1 so far so I've asked for a refund, until I see the DLCs. People in my clan are already back to BF4. Here are a few cons : - The "Rock, paper, scissors" gun scheme has absolutely ruined the game : 64 players mandatory + automatic weapon high recoil don't help - Level progression is not rewarding (it should be more obvious when you level up, etc) - Boring slow tanks gameplay with limited visibility (same for boats, planes, even horses are not as fun as motorcycles in BF4) - No custom server at launch, then useless custom servers since admins can't change much - Most expansive game ever (160$ CAD for Game + Premium) - Too many bad maps, especially since tanks are boring : Suez, Fao Fortress, Sinai Desert - No real great maps (while Amiens and St. Quentin's Scar are OK) - Feels more like Battlefront 2 than BF5 edit : 6 months later, I've played it for the free 10 hours, players population has dropped but it's still OK, the DLCs have been slowly released but they made a few improvements to the game that makes it a little better edit : 12 months later, the player population continued to drop, now only 25k on PC compared to 15k for BF4 currently, I wanted to try the new game mode Incursions (beta), waited for 10 minutes to get in a game but not enough player so I left then I come back and get a warning for "abandoning matches" ... come on EA ...

The things I disliked so far : - the combats/controls/movements felt clunky and not rewarding/challenging when compared to Dark Souls - the witcher sense view is too narrow (I disabled the fish eye effect) - for some reasons, the steps to follow for some quests were missing (not sure if intended or bug yet) - looting useless stuff, alchemy and crafting - uneven graphic quality across the game - using the Quen sign felt like cheating so far - no option to set the FOV or to choose between 4k and higher frame rate

It's really similar to CS:GO so if you like it, you might like R6 Siege. But if you are a fan of Battlefield, then this game is probably not for you. It's really "camping oriented" and the pace is really slow. It's limited to 5 vs 5 so it's harder to find friends to play with when compared to Battlefield. Indeed, ideally, you need 5 players, no more, not less while in Battlefield, it's less important and you can have many squads of 5 players ... It's a simple multiplayer game with no real single player mode. I played for about 10 hours and I feel already bored by the game. While I think Battlefield could be more tactical, R6 is just too limited for me. Despite the various operators (20) and maps (15) for now, the gameplay is quite repetitive. Edit : after reaching level 15 and getting more used to the game and watching serenity17 videos on youtube, and playing with my team on discord, I can understand a little more what people like about this game and I've started to like it

I think EA should change their Premium model ... people paying that much seems to want the game to include all DLCs AT LAUNCH, not 1 year later and I can understand. Let's say you play the game intensively for the first 4 months but you can only play the first DLCs, the game becomes boring and you leave the game and never return to it and the community dies and the game gets bad reviews and next time EA will sell less because people will remember. I paid a few bucks for it 1 year after it was released, and for that price, it's a good game ... Unfortunately, the online community on PC is small. Imho, if you think of all the maps included with Premium + the campaign (8h), there is enough content to justify 50$ at least, but maybe not 120$. I really like the soundtrack (hiphop) for the campaign and I like that to play Battlefield in a modern environment (not like BF1). The actors rendering is quite impressive in the campaign mode. Here are a few annoying things I found : - low FPS (about 15) in everglades and a few others area even with GTX1060 !! (campaign) .. I decided to lower my score by 10% because of it, it's almost unplayable in these zones - can't change the key binding for Q in campaign (does not work) - searching for clues using Q - similarities with Assasins Creed

Background : I bought the complete edition with all DLCs on the Humble Bundle store for about 15$. Younger, I played similar games a little but I've not played any since years. I played the default game mode using all default settings (difficulty beginner). Usually I rarely rush a game but this game feels more like work than entertainment so I rushed it like I would rush finishing a task and it took me 2 days (16 hours) to finish the game. Review : I'm pretty new to Civilization so obviously I don't review it like a fan would. Personally, I think that they should change the default settings to make the game simpler/shorter and more fast paced. Despite the in-game tips provided, the complexity felt overwhelming. I know you can somehow change the settings but I would like the default settings to be more "user-friendly". I'm a programmer and I hardly see how a casual gamer can start being interested in this game, except a kid with tons of hours in front of him. Personally, I would prefer a game where the focus is more on the war and less on culture/religion/faith/science/happiness.

Great graphics for a game released in 2008 ! This being said : - This is one the only game where I felt like putting on sunglasses just to dim the bloom. - It feels like a cheap version of Assassins Creed in First Person because you spend all the game jumping from one building to another or trying to climp a building - Another problem is how draconian the detection system is when interacting with objects, if you're off by a hair. You're dead. - Bad control scheme : they should have used what most games use : X to jump, O to crouch, etc.

I prefer this game to other MOBA because this one is 3rd person, which makes it more immersive. Arena is fast paced but I think Conquest should be 10vs10 or 7vs7. Also when one person is AFK, the game quickly becomes unfair. For a free game, it's quite good but well I think that if you really want to enjoy it, you will want to buy it, 30$ seems fair. This being said, unlocking one god seems to take forever, I've about 3500 flavors after at least playing at least 8 hours while a god is 5000. I guess that the best to really enjoy this game would be to play in a real team (clan). I can see how powerful it can be to make smart use of powers (one freeze the opponent while the other use a massive slow attack) and to be many to attack a single opponent. I would probably really enjoy playing competitive and learning all Gods skills. This being said, without having a clan to play with and being limited to only a few Gods (free to play), the game becomes quickly repetitive and boring. I prefer to play a game like battlefield where you can revive other players, heal yourself and where the attacks (guns) are more clearly defined. Indeed, in SMITE, it's often hard to understand how you got killed because there are some many Gods/attacks.

- average graphics - no killcam - mostly the same maps - camping is rewarded (except in deathmatch maybe) - AWP seems OP - something is wrong with netcode/spread when firing from short distance I prefer CSS. I've started playing CS1.3 15 years ago and I liked the graphic improvements and new maps in CSS but I don't really get why CS:GO seems popular. As of 2015, you can get BF3/BF4 for almost the same price as CS:GO. I can understand that CS:GO can be more competitive since it's infantry only, etc. It's probably the only good point in my humble opinion. The graphics look outdated, the UI is so-so, people are still playing the same maps 15 years later ... I don't get it. I'm pretty sure if you take the time to search, you can find some interesting modes and maps in this game but I've not found any. Personally I prefer Battlefield and Titanfall, sold at the same price currently. There is no killcam, come on. The casual mode is the one I prefer so far, I hate friendly fire. This FPS rewards camping too much when compared because of the size of the maps, the weapon available and the spread when moving.

I paid 6$ on sale for this game, the Season Pass is now free on Origin so I got all the DLCs for free. I'm not sure I get why EA does this but I won't complain ! There are so many games being released, it's hard to find the time to play all great games (great = over 80% on metacritic usually). So I guess they prefer to make some money than no money by lowering the price. It's great because it increase the number of players and it makes it more interesting for everyone. The bad side (for them) is that less and less people will pre-order games. Anyway I hope this trend continues since it's quite cool for gamers who are able to wait a little ! Others just have to blame themselves, would you marry someone before meeting/seeing her ? Well it's the same with video games, you should wait to see reviews and gameplay before buying. So I think the game itself is great. It feels like Battlefield but with more action (too much?) and it's quite refreshing to play with Titans (reminds me of tanks in BF) The graphics are great. Firstly, I recommend that you change the controls to type 4 and that invert L1/L2 and R1/R2 so that R1 is for firing. This way you will have the same controls as in most games like COD. I played at medium difficulty with partial aim assist. Both are default, I suggest you keep these settings. I really appreciated the story, the voice acting as well as the gameplay. I liked the attitude and the cynicism of Max Payne. It's the first time I play a Max Payne title. On PS4, the graphics are quite good but I guess it's the kind of game I should have played on PC (because it's a shooter with some online multiplayer (aim-assist does not feel competitive) and it's the kind of graphics shining on PC). The stealth sections annoyed me a little because the AI was a little too smart (or me too bad). The story could have been better/longer, I would have enjoyed more cut-scenes. I'm not a fan of side-quests (I prefer when these quests are mandatory and linked to the main story or at least when you have more incentives to do them). My advice to players : play with the supernatural powers and check videos on youtube, it might help you to enjoy the game Here are the things I would change to make it better : 0- Improve stealth killing mechanism How many times, I was behind an opponent, but because I was not perfectly aligned or at perfect distance, I could not "stealth kill" and got detected instead. By stealth kill, I mean non-lethal : choke-out holds 1- Improve "see through walls" It's working fine BUT what's the point of making a good looking game, if players use X-RAY vision (aka Dark Vision) which makes everything looks yellow ... 2- Improve graphics Yeah sometimes it looked great, but for example, faces/visages were not that great 3- Make it easier to have the "good ending" At least, make it more obvious, at the start of the game, that it's important to kill as less opponents as possible. Let the player knows how many kills (or some kind of indication) he needs to move to the dark side or to get back to the bright side 4- Make a less dark atmosphere Is it life not enough dark already ? Personal preference. 5- Improve load/save time 6- Make it easier to fight with opponents standing near 7- More original Yeah, I felt like playing a mix of Bioshock, Batman and AC. 8- Put less items to "loot" As much as I liked to find where were the Runes, I disliked to spend so much time taking money/items everywhere. Well, I could have just let the money there, which I did often but when you start a game, you never know if you gonna need all that money, etc. 9- Improve "lifetime" I know many will disagree but multiplayer gives you one reason to not rent or resell the game 10- Let us see/hear the hero !!! Maybe the biggest flaw 11- Improve translation (french) Ok I should have played it in English. But for people who can't, the voice of Horatio Caine from CSI Miami for all the guards, seriously ? 12- Let us kill instead of playing stealth and still have the good end By playing stealth all the time (or almost), you're missing out on interesting techniques/abilities/strategy. 13- Improve the Blink power Too hard to tell if the distance is too far to be reached via Blink 14- Give the powers earlier in the game

Seeing all those good reviews makes me wonder why I still look to reviews ... if I want to relaxe, I'll watch TV, play to a game with a lot of cinematics (not a FPS), play to a game like Little Big Planet ... but never I'll play this boring game, yes it's beautiful but just go outside if you want to see flowers ... top 10 of the worst game I've played.
