Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu5
May 22, 2026
I try to be open minded with new Star Wars content. I understand it is designed for you get audiences. But I also I understand the fundamentals of story making and film production and I am struggling to figure out what the point of this film is and why it so undercooked. Feloni and Favreau get way too many free passes from the more toxic elements of the fandom. Maybe there should be accountability this time.

A Great Awakening2
Apr 17, 2026
There's way too much output of Christian Nationalist slop lately. This film lacks good storytelling or historical accuracy, so it's main purpose must be to manipulate easily gullible audiences with whatever naive or nefarious intentions it has.

Venom: The Last Dance3
Oct 25, 2024
Awkwardly acted, directed, and edited. It's neither fun nor whacky. It's very clear that the only quality Marvel films in the future will come from the MCU.

Deadpool & Wolverine7
Jul 26, 2024
Without the cameos and fan service, this is a simple story of redemption and friendship. Recent MCU films have taken greater risks and did not have to rely on shock and awe so much.

A not perfect, but still heartwarming film about a very inspirational story.

Some weird editing and a half fleshed out antagonist, but this was one my favorite recent marvel ****'t wait to see more Ms.Marvel in the future!

Not the quality we usually expect from Pixar, but by no means a bad movie. Hopefully people will give it a chance.

About the same quality as other Illumination films. Some of the best scenes were in the trailer.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania4

Poorly edited and scripted. Something must have been going on behind the scenes to explain the deficits.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery7

Another great Rian Johnson film. There's some choppy editing in the beginning, but second half is very well done.

Avatar: The Way of Water6

Disconnected, weak story and poor frame rates. A movie so successful deserves a little more.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever9

Few commercial movies are made with such care and delicacy. It was artfully done, had a compelling story, and was entertaining throughout. Can't wait to see more from Shuri, Riri Williams, and Namor.

Another decent pixar film. Too bad bigots have to be bigots and review bomb to try to compensate for their insecurities.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness7
May 6, 2022
There are some awkward editing issues, but this movie throws out fan service and provides a uniquely Marvel experience and it is better for it. The movie avoids overwhelming the audience by only diving so deep into the Multiverse. It straddles a fine line between horror and a regular action flick and keeps the best features of both. The decisions made with Wanda are a little jarring at first but make for a less predictable movie in the long run. I loved seeing America a Chávez get introduced to the MCU and cannot wait to see what she has to offer in the future.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore4

Adding an additional writer still couldn't save the narrative of this latest FB entry. It's confusing, awkwardly edited, and mostly underwhelming.

Morbius3
Apr 3, 2022
Not a good CB movie. Not a good vampire movie. Suffers from crappy editing, disjointed writing, and unclear intentions of how it connects to other Marvel films.

Pixar has outdone itself both in technical skills and it’s heartfelt art.

One of the best satires of all time. It's guilty of a little bit of liberal elitism but otherwise it leaves us all culpable for climate change

A very well done soon on a coming-of-age story that is both a dedication and reflection to the time period it is set.

Low quality propaganda not deserving of being called a film. Laughable that it was made by two men who will never have to experience the choice of having an abortion
Jul 11, 2021
Black Widow7
Jul 11, 2021
This movie hits quite a few high marks. It addresses dark themes and subject matters without becoming lost in them. It gives a lot more depth to decisions made in other MCU movies without having to over-indulge in it's connections to those movies. It also falls into a familiar Marvel trope of only so deep villains. This is definitely not meant for a younger audience, which is a bold movie on Marvels part

A consequential film that puts America and liberalism on trial. Some of the best screenwriting in years.

Joker3

Even from an art standpoint this movie doesn't hold up much. It has nothing new to say for commentary on society and adds nothing new to the Joker story.

Beautiful cinematography and a reminder of what consequences we face when our leaders play dangerous war games. Hopefully the War to End All Wars can give us the urgency to end our Endless Wars.

Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker5
Dec 19, 2019
I have a lot of love for Star Wars. I read the comics. I have a nursery that's Star Wars themed. I've been defending this new trilogy for years. But, this movie has provided a lot of disappointment that I am having trouble reconciling.

Jordan Peele has struck gold a second time. The movie is fantastically direction and phenomenally acted. The movie isn't as complex with social commentary as Get Out, but what does exist in the movie will leave you thinking for days afterwards.

Captain Marvel8
Mar 8, 2019
This is easily a top 10 MCU movie. The story and character development is solid. The movie experience is spectacular. Brie Larson does a great job portraying someone who has had their identity ripped from them and spends the story trying to reclaim that identity. A lot of people complain that she "doesn't show enough emotion" but I say that is a farce since her character is constantly being told to contain her human-side. Can't wait to see Carol Danvers again next month.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part2

Everything is not awesome. It took until the third act for any real jokes to land their punches. Overall, I left the theater completely underwhelmed compared to the first movie.

Bohemian Rhapsody5

A missed opportunity. The film is able to capture each band members personalities perfectly, bit fails to use that to any storytelling advantage. Freddie Mercury deserves better.

Venom3

I can see why the critical reviews are low. I can also see why fans enjoy it. We deserve a better Venom movie, but what we got wasn't the worst comic book movie ever.

Black Panther9

This is genre breaking, complex, and worth several viewings just to take it all in. The greatest aspect of the movie, though, is the superb acting by Michael B. Jordan.

Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi9
Dec 19, 2017
In defense of The Last Jedi: This movie is unpredictable and unlike any Star Wars film to proceed it. Yes, there are elements of the movie that at first seem out of place for a Star Wars film. The Force is used in new ways. You can even say the Force and its many forms (and its divisiveness) are the star of the film. There are many plot-points and none have the ending the audience is prepared for. The film movies quickly, yet it is the longest in the franchise. Most noticeably, Luke Skywalker's story "does not go the way you think." At first, all of these unprecedented changes come as a shock. That may be unsettling for Star Wars fans that feel the franchise must fit in a box. For everyone else, this movie is everything Star Wars should be: funny, unpredictable, filled with family drama, mystic, and inspiring. This movie will be debated as long as Star Wars is a main staple in popular culture. But it should be watched, reflected on, and remembered for bringing new life into one of the longest lasting sagas in cinema's history.
